"Jerry," I said to the phone, "I'm sorry about yesterday and I want to make it up to you."
I had begun to feel bad for leaving Jerry yesterday and for abandoning him at lunch. I guess he had Harmony, but-
"Look, here's how you can make it up to me." He said after a while.
"How?" This better not include Harmony.
"You know the annual sports competition at school?"
"Yeah?"
"I went and won two free tickets to the Amusement park during a game. I want you and I to go and have fun."
"I'll think about it."
"Come on dude. We've been best friends since kindergarten. I can tell when you're not feeling yourself, and today is one of those days. This might cheer you up!"
"Ok I'll come."
"My dad will pick you up. Ok I need to go but we'll pick you up in about 30 minutes."
"Ok!" I said, "bye."
A click ended the call so I went over to my room to start homework.
As I grabbed my backpack a flyer for the school's sport competition fell out.
Winner gets 2 FREE tickets to Al's Amusement park!
Al's Amusement Park.
What had I gotten myself into?
