"No! Harmony!"
It all happened too fast.
Liam was right next to me. He was on the ground, bleeding. He looked up at me and smiled weakly, then collapsed.
He needed help.
FAST.
The man next to Liam who had stabbed him was looking down, his eyes wide with pain and rage. I recognized him as my kidnapper five years ago. But I couldn't run. Liam needed me right now.
I knew the kidnapper as Liam's dad, and I wondered how he felt about almost killing his son. He spat a range of colorful words and fell to his knees.
I grabbed my phone and called 911.
Within minutes, the police had arrived. Liam's dad was arrested, and Liam was rushed to the hospital.
I couldn't even think. It hurt to think.
Was this how Mindy felt yesterday?
This happened too fast. Too fast! I could barely breathe.
One doctor opened the door to Liam's hospital room.
I took a deep breath.
A nurse spoke, "He's fine now. He hasn't woken up yet but at least his heart is functioning. He's still very weak, and there's still a slight chance of infection. But he can take visitors now."
I nodded and followed the nurse in.
There was hardly any proof Liam was alive, except for an almost silent breath every second.
He almost died... for me...
---
Somehow this is almost done... O_O that was fast...
