"There's a new girl in school."
"Huh." The last so-called "new girl" in school was not great news.
"Her name's Mindy," Jerry said. "She's pretty, nice, smart..."
"There you go again," I playfully smacked his arm.
"Okay. Promise me that she isn't your other mortal enemy."
"I assure you that I do not know any girl named Mindy at the present."
Jerry breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness."
"So, where is she?"
"Over there...oh, skarg."
"What is it?"
"She's standing next to Harmony. And talking to her."
Just great.
"I don't care. I'm going to go talk to her, and man, she is pretty."
Normally I would have stopped him from being near Harmony.
And any friend she had. Because of normal reasons.
But now I wanted to stop him for different reasons..
He didn't know that any relationship he wanted would only last at most 3 months.
He didn't know that he would soon not be allowed to meet anyone outside of a hospital room.
But he looked so happy, I couldn't stop him.
"I'll... see you at Science."
Jerry smiled, "Okay, see you there!"
