It's impossible.
I thought I would never see him again. But there he is.
I walked away as fast as I could.
"Hey uh, did you drop this?"
Liam wasn't the voice that spoke. Instead I turned around to see another kid holding my math assignment sheet.
"Oh yeah," I said, "Thanks."
"No problem," the boy shrugged, "So your name's Harmony?"
"Umm yes...?"
"Your name is pretty." He smiled.
I could feel my cheeks turning bright red, "Thanks. What's your name?"
"Jerry...Are you new to Alvin High?"
"Yes, I joined this year. You?"
"I was here last year. I'm a sophomore. You?"
"Same."
"Yeah. Hey, uh what do you usually do for lunch?"
"Eat food, I guess."
Jerry laughed, "Do you wanna hang out?"
I never thought a boy would ask me to "hang out".
"Well," I said, "I guess I'm free."
"Awesome. I'll meet you by the lunch tables?"
"Um sure?" I replied.
Jerry smiled, "awesome."
"I better get to class. Nice talking to you!"
Jerry nodded, smiling.
I ran to class, slipping into my seat as attendance began to be taken.
I couldn't stop smiling.
