Emma looked at Kyle from a distance. It was lunchtime and he was sitting in their usual spot, waiting for her. He couldn't see her as his back was to where she was standing. He'd apologize to her about Friday night of course. The reason he hasn't done it because that walking to class is not exactly isn't exactly the best time to accept an apology. All weekend she made up excuses: Homework or her parents won't let go out or she forgot that she had a big test. She wasn't ready all weekend but now, she was ready.

She walked across the cafeteria to where he was sitting.

Hey baby. Kyle smiled at her as she sat down and he gave her a kiss. "Did you find what your grades on those tests you took?

Emma nodded as she took out her lunch and tried to avoid his gaze. "I found out last week."

And? You are going to just leave me hanging? He laughed taking her face in his hand and turning it towards him. "It would be nice if you'd look at me too.'

Sorry. Emma sighed.

"So, how'd you do?"

Aced them all. Emma said as she didn't sound excited.

You are in a bad mood, Em? He asked as he sensed something was wrong.

Emma shrugged, "Why would I be?"

"I don't know. Why don't you tell me?"

"I'm not."

"You're not going to tell me if you are in a bad mood? He chuckled.

I'm not in a bad mood. She lied. She knew at this point he wasn't going to apologize because he treated as if it never even happened. As if he never yelled at her.

"If you say so. He turned his attention to his lunch. "So, how was your test?"

"What test?"

"You know, the test you told me you were too busy studying for and too busy studying for us not to hang out yesterday."

"Oh, that test...Umm..fine, easy. You know, like it always is. She lied once more.

"What subject?"

Umm... U.S History. She nodded.

"Chloe didn't say anything about any test but then again, I doubt she even knew about it."

Yeah. She said as she finally opened her yogurt. She continued looking at it without even taking the spoon.

You sure you're ok? Kyle asked looking at Emma worriedly.

Emma nodded. "I'm fine, really, I am." She looked at him and smiled weakly.

He knew the reason she was this way but he couldn't say anything to her. He wanted to say those two words: "I'm sorry." but they wouldn't come out.

Emma's house

Emma walked into her house after a tutoring session started her way up the stairs when she heard her mom. "Emma? Is that you?"

Yes. She said going up the stairs.

"Can you come here for a second?"

No. Emma continued walking up the stairs as she went into her room and closed the door behind her. She took out her binder and put it on her desk and she sat down and looked through her books.

She heard the door open followed by her angry mother. "Would you care to explain why you suddenly think you can act like a spoiled Princess? I asked you to come over and thought I was giving you a choice. When I ask you to do something, I expect you to do it and don't dare give me any smart-alec reply.
