Did You Think I Would Forget About You?

He was falling. Nothing could save him. He heard her voice but it was in the distance. The further he fell, the more indistinct her voice became. She was slipping away and there was nothing he could do about it. He just kept falling further and further into the darkness.

Henry woke up and shook his head. He felt as if he was in hell except for the fact that he didn't land on anything.

He looked at the time on his phone and got out of bed and started to get ready for school.

At school

Nah, not exactly... Zach was saying something but Henry was in another world. He was staring at his food and made sure to occasionally nod to make it seem like he was somewhat listening.

Henry looked up and his heart nearly stopped when he saw April was walking too close to where he hoped she wasn't going. When he saw her advancing towards Emma's table, he stood up.

"Henry, what the--?"

He didn't tear his gaze from April. She was closer now, he felt like he wanted to die. Then, April stopped and turned so he could see her face. She just laughed and walked away.

"Chloe!"

A calm relief washed over him as he sat back down, his heart was still racing at the moment.

Is this some random thing someone dared you to do? You know,  stand up in the middle of lunch and stare off into space? Zach laughed.

Yeah, sure. Henry said trying not to sound like how he had just felt.

Aha, interesting. Zach took a bite out of his sandwich.

Speaking of interesting. Jamie said excitedly. "And possibly, amazing, remarkable, incredible, way beyond the point of cool, exciting, and unforgettable."

Jamie. Zach put down his lunch. "Get to the point, babe! Before you put both of us asleep with the long list of adjectives I'm sure you rehearsed for."

Ha-ha. Jamie said dramatically. "I was just going to say that we should double date again. At my house, of course."

I'm down for that. Zach agreed. "Hen, what do you think?"

They turned to Henry who was busy looking at Emma.

"Henry?"

"Huh? What? Yeah, I mean sure. Henry quickly snapped back to reality.

So, at the cemetery at midnight. Good, so it's been decided. Zach nodded.

Cemetary--NO! I heard that Jamie said something about her house for the date."

Zach chuckled. "It's fun when you are completely out of it."

I'm not out of it. Henry argued.

"Really? This isn't out of it? I'm scared to know what it is."

OK! Jamie said loudly. "How about we stop this petty bitch fight you two are having and talk about the double?"

The boys nodded their heads in agreement.

"Hen, are you going to ask Emma out, or do you want me to?"

I can. Henry looked towards Emma. "Actually", He stood up. "I'll go ask her right now."

What about your food? Zach asked eyeing the sandwich.

You can have it. Henry said making his way around the table.

Thank god. Zach grabbed the sandwich, but it was quickly snatched away by Jamie who made sure to take a big bite.

Henry walked towards Emma's group of friends.
