Miss. Evans was reading off the pairs for the project. Everyone was listening carefully to see who they'd be with. Chloe, on the other hand, was drawing little hearts in her notebook and chewing her gum.

"Just make sure you guys will meet at her house! Chloe replayed Henry said to her the day before.

Chloe could really care less about this project. It would be yet another project she'd fail. She didn't have to work hard in school because she'd get into College with parent's money. That was the plan all along.

So, go sit with your partner and discuss how you guys will get this project done and look at the outline for the project. Miss Evan said after she read the last of the pairs.

Chloe picked up her binder and walked to where Emma and smiled. "Looks like we are working together."

Emma nodded with a smile. "Looks like it." She looked down at the outline for the project.

"So, this is going to be a lot of work. Chloe said placing her binder down.

Of course, we can work on it on the days that Miss. Evan will give us to work on it in class but we'll have to meet also outside of school if that's ok."

Yeah, sure. Chloe said. "But not in my house because my cousins are visiting from out of town." This was not true but Chloe had planned what to say to Emma.

Okay. Chloe said. "We can work in."

Your house. Chloe said quickly "I mean if that's okay."

I see no reason why not. Emma said. " How about--"

Today. Chloe cut Emma off again. "If that works."

Umm, Sure I guess. Emma said confused. Since when was Chloe one of the people that wanted to work on a project the day it was given?

What time is good for you? Chloe questioned finally asking what she wanted to do.

Well, I can't do right after school because of tutoring so maybe around 7? Emma said.

You don't come home until seven? Chloe asked.

I do, but don't you want to finish other homework before we start on this project? Emm asked.

I guess. Chloe said knowing that she won't even touch her homework. "Seven at your place?"

If that works with you, Emma said. She was actually happy that Chloe was offering to work on the project today. She was expecting to be the one who did all the work while Chloe sat and took pictures of herself all day. It was nice that Chloe was proving her wrong.

Can I have your address? Chloe took out her phone.

Sure, Let me text you. Emma said then pulling out her phone.

Emma sent the address to her.

So, what are we supposed to do with this project? Like what is it about? Chloe asked finally asking something about the project.

Well, The project itself has a few parts to it. But the basic prompt is to explain how reconstruction affected either the social, economic, or political culture of the United States. Emma said reading the outline requirements.

So, What are we gonna do? Chloe asked. 'Social, economic, or political?"

Well, there are many reasons for all of them so we could do whichever, it doesn't really matter. Emma said.

Chloe nodded, "Okay."
