Nice Work if You Can Get It

Emma walked out of her English class thinking of Kyle. She couldn't hope for a sweeter guy as a boyfriend. Jasper, of course, took the news as she thought. 

Flashback

"YOU'RE GOING STEADY NOW?! He screamed in the morning before the first period when Emma brought it up. 

Are you going to scream at me now like always?  Emma questioned not bothered by his anger. 

EM, it's one thing to date the guy and it's another to be going steady. Jasper explained with frustration. How could this happen?  Emma was a great girl and Kyle didn't deserve her.  He would never be good enough for her weather he was using her or not.

I'm happy, Jasper. Emma smiled weakly, "Just be happy for me."

"I would if there would be something to be happy about! This guy's an ass that's not half  as good as you."

Emma laughed. "That's sweet and all but I make my own choices. I really like him and I'm glad he asked me."

Jasper looked at Charlotte and Piper, "You guys think this is okay?"

Piper shrugged and looked at Emma. 

Jasper. Charlotte said. "You know how happy you make me? Let Emma be as happy . Even if it's with a guy you disapprove of. If he makes her happy, why not be with him?"

Jasper sighed and looked back at Emma. "If he does anything to you at all: Pressers you, makes you do things that you don't want to do or treats you badly, you come straight to me. You hear me?"

Emma smiled, "Yes."

"Promise me, Em?"

"I promise!  Now can you relax?"

End of Flashback

As Emma made her way through the Cafe, someone crept behind her and put their hands under her eyes. 

Kyle. Emma giggled. 

Kyle turned Emma around and hgave her a kiss. "You want to eat off-campus for lunch with me?" 

I wish. Emma bit her bottom lip. "But I really don't want to late to my 5th period class."

You won't. Kyle looked down on his watch. "There's an hour before 5th."

"What if we don't make it back in time?"

"We will, I promise." 

Emma smiled, "Just let me tell my friends."

"Okay."

"Do you want to come with me? I'll introduce you."

Nah, it's fine. Kyle said. "Maybe later."

Emma nodded,  "So, I'll be right back." With this Emma walked to her group of friends as Kyle walked to his. 

I'm taking her out to lunch. Kyle approached April, Chloe, and Henry. 

Good. Henry said. 

Why? April asked. 

Why What? Henry asked. 

"Why does he have to take her to lunch?"

Because we are a couple. Kyle explained. 

Nah! Really? April gasped. "Already?" Kyle and Henry nodded. 

Easy target. Chloe drank from her water bottle. 

April burst out laughing, "You did not just say that."
