To Hate or to Love

The Door

I open the door and am dragged outside.

"Stay away from him," they growl and release me.

They run and I watch them.

I walk back inside not the tiniest bit scared.

"Who was it?" Finnick asks.

"Oh just some girl telling me to stay away from someone," I shrug sitting back down.

"Oh that's all," Finnick says.

I lean back onto the couch.

I check the time. Its 7:25.

"Finn, do you think we should be leaving?" I ask.

"Well probably," he says.

He stands up and I follow.

I grab my stuff and exit the house staying close to Finnick incase something were to grab me.

We walk to his house and set everything up.

The door opens and Annie walks in.

Jo and Peeta come in straight after.

"Hey guys!" I say pouring Doritos into a bowl.

"Hey," they says.

The doorbell rings and Annie answers letting Gale inside.

"Hey Johanna," Gale says immediately.

"Uh hi," Jo says stepping closer to me showing she's uncomfortable.

Rye walks in without ringing the doorbell and we all decide to watch a movie, eat, play games, and keep eating and then watch another movie until we are all asleep.

Finnicks parents are out of town for a couple days so it's just us.

We decide to watch RV because its been awhile since we've seen it.

We all laugh and eat and watch the movie until I notice a pair of eyes watching us through the window.

I text Finnick since it is his house

TO

FINN🐟 LOOK OUT THE WINDOW!😁😁

I quickly get a response.

FROM

FINN 🐟 What is it?❓❓❓

TO

FINN🐟 Idk I want to go see u want to come?

FINN🐟obviously

I get up and walk over to the door.

Everyone is engrossed in their own conversation and is not paying attention except for Jo is mouthing to us to help her.

Gale talks on and on to her.

I laugh and quickly shake my head no.

I open the door and tip toe outside with Finnick behind me.

I walk outside and see a small Rottweiler.

"Aww, come here baby," I say crouching down.

"Katniss! It could have rabies!" Finnick exclaims scaring the puppy more.

"Shut up Finnick your scaring it," I say in a steady tone.

"Come here baby," I say in a soothing tone.

"Come here," I say again soothingly.

The puppy looks unsure but takes a step closer to me.

"That's a good puppy, come here," Finnick says crouching beside me.

I pat my knee trying to gets the puppy to come to me.

The little puppy couldn't be more than a month or so old and it looks under feed.

"Come here baby, we wouldn't hurt you," I say.

"Please puppy come on," Finnick says.

The puppy's face lights up and it runs over to me and Finnick licking our faces.

I pick it up.

"She's a girl," I says smiling.

I hug her close and me and Finnick walk back inside.

We close the door and everyone looks over at us.

"A PUPPY!" Annie screams running over to us.

"It's kinda cute," Jo says standing up and coming over to us.

Finnick walks over to the guys to explain and me, Annie, and Jo sit down on the floor to play with her.

"She's so cute!!" Annie gushes.

"She's a Rottweiler right?" Johanna says scratching behind the puppy's ears.

"Yep or a mixed but she looks like a Rottweiler," I say.

"She's loving this attention," Annie says.

"We should take her to the Vet tommorrow," Jo says.

"Yeah and maybe go get her groomed and washed and stuff," Annie says.

"Bring her over here and let us see her!" Rye yells more loudly than needed.

I pick her up and hug her to my chest and bring her over to the guys.

I place her in Finnick lap because she at least knows him a little bit.

"She's adorable," Peeta says smiling a petting her.

"She's the sweetest thing ever! How can Rottweilers even get a bad rep?" Rye asks.

I answer immediately.

"Because people use the for fighting, starve them, tie them up, and deprive them from people so all they know is that people are bad because that's all they've ever known,"
I say.

"But then people who treat them right get sweet giant teddy bears," I say laughing.

"And that's just what she will be,"

So I personally loved this chapter and IM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED! I have been really busy with school and family and other stuff.

So one of my friends said that you guys liked short chapters so

I personally like long chapters. is that just me?
