It was the middle of your and Draco's 6th year at Hogwarts . You had an amazing relationship until he told you about being a death eater but you promised him . You promised him you'd stay . It was getting harder though . Talking to Draco was like talking to a wall . He was standing there in your presence but his mind and consciousness was somewhere else . When you did get to have a genuine conversation with him it would mainly be arguments . It was starting to take a toll on but you felt as if you couldn't leave him because you promised him that wouldn't happen . Today in particular was one of the hardest . It was your 3 year anniversary since you initially got together in 4th year . You knew that Draco had forgotten so you tried your best to do the same .

You got dressed and headed to the great hall for breakfast . You tried your best to avoid anymore and took your normal seat next to Blaise not speaking . " Good morning to you to ." He greeted you but you just stayed silent eating a single piece of toast . " Y/N i'm sorry it has to be this way between you guys i wish there was something i could do to fix it . " Blaise had so much sorrow and pity behind his voice . You couldn't bare to sit there and silent to his or anyone else's pity so you got up and left , walking past Draco on your way out . He looked at you as though he wanted to say something but you just kept walking . There was a spot near black lake you often when to when you needed to clear your head . It was underneath a shaded tree and just away from the water enough the ground wasn't always wet . So that's where you went .

Setting up a blanket near the trunk of the tree you laid down and just stared up at the sky as tears silently started to rush down your face . You could hear someone coming but just thought it was an animal on the woods . " Y/N ?? " a voice called out softly . Without moving you knew it was Draco . " hmm ? " Was all you could say because if you opened your mouth to talk you would just start crying more . " Please , sit up and talk to me . I need you right now . " Draco pleaded with you so you sat up and he could see your red eyes and face full of tears . " i-i - darling what's the meaning of this ? " He looked at you with sadness in his eyes .

" Draco you can't be serious ? What's the meaning of this ? You act as though your some kind of incompetent idiot ! " You yelled at him standing up . " Your standing here in front of me but your just a warm body . You aren't a person , your not Draco Malfoy . " He just stared in disbelief at you and tried to grab your hands when you pulled away . Then he started to get angry too . " You act as though i can help it . I can't Y/N ! I can't help who they've made me to be , you were supposed to be my savior ! You promised me you wouldn't leave my side ! " He yelled at you running his hands through his hair in frustration . " I've been trying my best to find hope Draco . Have you ever tried to find hope in the hopeless ? It's an impossible task . I know what i promised but i can't do this anymore . I can't be in a relationship that's built upon broken words . " By this point your tears turned full on sobs and your knees buckled beneath you . " I won't do it Y/N . I won't walk away from you . Not now and not ever . I've come to far to lose this battle . For once in my life i've had a person to make me feel as though i lived up to something . All the nights you sat with me . I knew i needed you but my life is entirely co-dependent on you . " He had tears streaming down his face as well and he leaned down in front of you pushing your hair back .

" I can't do it Draco . I feel as though i'm dying . Everyday that i stay with you a piece of my happiness breaks away . I used to be so happy . Then i let our love consume me . i'm so in love with you that it physically pains me to love you . " You could hardly breath . It felt as though some had just shot you in the chest . You wanted so badly to get up and walk away but you couldn't move . You both sat in silence for a minute . " Do you remember when we went to the yule ball together ? You had on that long flowy dress with the slit up the side . You looked so beautiful . Instead of staying to dance you wanted to go to the forbidden forest . I refused at first but then you dragged me along anyways . I watched you running through the grass . You were laughing . You had no clue how beautiful you actually looked underneath the moonlight . You were angelic . " He smiled to himself .

" Draco i'm drowning . It's like i'm in the water screaming up at you to save me but your just staring into the water looking at me . " He just pulled you into his lap and held you . you felt safe . " Your not drowning love . I promise your not drowning . your safe . " In that moment he truly knew how much pain you were in but all he could was hold you . He could feel you shaking so he just held on tighter . " i'm broken Draco . " You relationship was beyond toxic but walking away would be the hardest thing either of you had ever done . " It's not your fault . I shut you out . I let myself shut down and you couldn't handle that . It didn't matter how hard you tried . All the days you would check on me in my dorm when i hadn't spoke to you all day . Always making sure i was okay before you even considered that it was you that was hurting more then me . All the times you were smiling and making sure i was okay when you felt like dying . i'm selfish for not seeing it for myself and i'm sorry love . " Draco had so much love behind his words as he kissed the top of your head .

" Stop fighting . Let go of your built up pain and anger . It's okay . i'm here now and i'm gonna take care of you . I'm not leaving and i promise i won't shut you out anymore darling . " He just held you in his arms as you cried into his chest . After a few minutes of not saying anything you looked up at him , " Please don't . don't shut me out anymore . I can handle all your other bullshit but not that Draco . " He gave you a sweet kiss . " I promise . i'm here now , and always my love . "
