Chapter 16

In the Gaming room

It is safe to say that in our little group only Tyler and I can play video games; Diana and Stella are what you can say below.... beginners also. I mean how can you kill your own team member while you're on a mission. For god's sake you are wearing similar clothes. Yes, we were playing counter strike- the one which is of two players- on the play station when Diana and Stella thought that if I and Tyler can play that 'simple' game, they can too. Their words not mine. But after killing their own team members in the game, they finally concluded that it's a waste of time. They would rather play on their phones. I agree that playing on phone is a lot simpler than playing on the PS but the graphics and the enjoyment on the PS can never compete with an app.

A couple of hours later, it was finally time for dinner and I can't wait for the cake. You must be wondering how a person can be so excited about a cake, well the thing is that I don't get to eat cakes, or any sweet for the matter of fact, much. It's not about gaining weight or anything; no, it's actually a totally different matter. See the thing is that I can't...

"Are you coming or what?" I was rudely interrupted from my thoughts by Diana, who was still snappy from the game issue.

"Yeah I am coming." I said, walking faster. I didn't realize that I had stopped at the door of the dining room.

I walked into the room and saw that my brothers were already here and Nate was introducing my friends to Erik and Aaron. I gave my brothers a peck on the cheek and sat beside Nathan with Stella on my left.  Diana was sitting next to Stella and Tyler was sitting next to Aaron, who was sitting across me with Erik was his left.

For dinner we had baked spaghetti, white sauce pasta with garlic bread and some chicken soup. We all made some small talks in between and sometimes fell into a comfortable silence. My brothers got along with my friends just fine, they all were having a good time, and I am pretty sure that they like each other's company.

After eating our dinner, we all went to the living room, where the maids will bring our dessert, which is unknown to my brothers for now. After settling down on the couches, I remembered that I didn't tell my brothers about Dad's call. So, I said, "Hey Dad called today and said that he and Mom are coming home this Friday."

"That's great. We haven't met them in a while." Aaron said, and other two nodded in agreement.

"Did he say something about the..." Erik was cut off, when the maid entered the living room with cake pieces. She handed each of us our pieces and went back out. I tried to ignore my brothers stunned looks and took a bite of my cake piece. Suddenly my brothers exclaimed together, "what the hell is this?"

"It's cake dudes. Chill." Tyler said, while enjoying the amazing delicious cake.

My brothers ignored Tyler and Erik said in a warning tone, "Thea.... Sis you wanna explain yourself."

I swallowed my bite and said, "Nope I am good."

"Thea." Nate said.

"What guys. It's not a big deal. Okay I wanted to have something sweet with chocolate in it so I told the chef to make this. Now let me enjoy my cake." I said, taking another bite. Just as I was about to take the spoon to my mouth, Erik literally dived in and took the spoon while Nate took the plate. I pouted and said, "No fair."

"What's the big deal if she is eating the cake? Why are you guys freaking out about it?" Diana asked while Stella asked, "Yeah what is it?" and Tyler asked, "Is she diabetic?"

My brothers exchanged a look and then Erik explained to them, "No she is not diabetic, she is worse. You know how when some people take drugs or alcohols and get high; they tend to do stupid things and get smashed."

My friends nodded but still had a confused look on their faces. I on the other hand am sporting a sheepish one.

"Well Thea here gets high on eating anything which is sweet. She acts like she is drunk but it's worse. We don't know or even want to know how she will act when she actually takes any of those type of things. Have you guys ever seen how someone who is bipolar? Well Thea gets like that when she is high on sugar." Nate completed the explanation.

My friends had a shocked look on their faces and my brothers were... well they are idiots. I haven't caused any damage, as such.

"Are you serious?" my friends said in unison.

"Oh, believe us. We wouldn't joke about this thing ever again. Once was enough." Aaron said, shaking his head.  He must be remembering the time when he took me to dinner and on our way back, we stopped at an ice cream shop because I wanted to have a chocolate cone of vanilla ice cream. It was the time when I was around 15, I think, when we found that if I have anything sweet, I get hyper but Aaron didn't quite believe when Erik and Nathan told him. So, after getting our ice creams we stood against our car and ate in silence. Aaron was doing something on his phone and I was watching the road and licking my ice cream, I don't really know what actually happened but what I do remember is that I was shouting at the car that was driving away because I thought it was running a red light, which it wasn't, and I was about to run after the car to shout at the driver but Aaron snapped out in reality and he rudely manhandled me into the car. When he closed my door, and locked it, he went on his side and got in, while I was rambling on and on about how we should follow the traffic rules and how that it is very important to stop those who don't. Suffice to say, after that night Aaron never said that he doesn't believe in it.

My friends looked at me weirdly and I said, "Don't look at me like that. I don't do anything on purpose."

My friends nodded and together they said slowly, "Sure...."

"Okay so tell us about the times when she eats something sweet; like any stupid things she has done in the past." Tyler asked.

"Well there are so many. Okay let's see. Yeah so once she..." Erik went into the storytelling mode and I zoned out.

I quietly took my plate from the coffee table and finished my cake, like everyone already had. They tried to take it from me, now they have to suffer the consequences too. You should never, and I mean never take cake away from me.

Let the fun begin.
