Chapter 15

"Hey dad" I said, picking up the call. I got up from the bed and walked out of the room, giving my friends a look to excuse me. It's been a few days since we last talked. We usually text from time to time to know each other's whereabouts but otherwise he would call every other weekend or so. Its more frequent with Mom because she likes to be more involved in our lives.

They don't visit as often as I would like them to and they don't call as often too but I know that they are doing this for us only and they love us more than anything in this world, which is what really matters to me. Even if we don't tell them where we are, they know. How? I have no idea, most of the time when we so much as step out of our compound area and go where we don't usually go, there's a message, sometimes even a call to know where we are headed. My brothers and I have concluded that they, probably Dad, have a tracker on us. It's doesn't really bother me because I don't usually go anywhere where I don't usually go, but it does cause some problems for my brothers because whenever they go to a party or anything like that, they get a warning message. But they are used to it now so it's okay, I guess.

"Hello pumpkin. How are you darling?" Dad said, happily. He is usually happy talking to me, you can say that I am a big 'Daddy's girl'.

"I am great Dad. I just have my friends over for a sleepover."

"Oh really? that's great sweetie. Are they the ones you told me about? Diana, Stella, and Tyler, right?" he said. I had already told about them in yesterday's text but I forgot to mention the sleepover.

I nodded but then I remembered that he can't see me, so I chuckled and said, "Yeah that's them. I told them about me being Thea Walter."

"How did they react?"

"Pretty good actually, they understood my reasons and were quite happy that I trusted them enough to let in on this secret."

"That's great darling. Finally, you got what you always wanted, they sound like good friends to me. I would very much like to meet them. Ask them to come over the next time we come, okay?"

"Of course, but when are you coming? It's been weeks since I have seen you or Mom for the matter of fact." I pouted.

"Don't pout sweetie." He knows me too well. "Actually, that's the reason I called you for. We are coming home next Friday and I have some good news too."

"What is it? What is it?" I asked, getting excited.

"Have patience, my child. You'll know when we get there." Oh, so he will not tell me, never mind I'll just ask Erik if he knows anything about. "And don't bother asking Erik, he doesn't know too." Damn it.

"Dad you know very well that now it's going to bug me till I know what it is. You shouldn't have said anything about it if you were not going to tell me till you get here."

"Oh pumpkin, it just slipped. I am sorry, just know that it is good news, it's regarding business but you'll love it." He said, trying to get me happy again. I smiled and said ok. I wasn't really upset about it, it's just that I don't like suspense much and Dad knows it very well because I get this trait from him only. You can say that I am impatient; actually, no I am very impatient when I want to be.

"Okay baby I have to go now, I have an important meeting in a few minutes. Talk to you later, I'll see you soon. Love you, bye."

"Bye Dad. Love you too." I replied, ending the call.

I was beaming now. I went back inside my room and saw that my friends have closed the movie and were now doing something on their phones. I silently creep into the room till I was next to them; they didn't even notice me because they were too indulged in their phones.

"Hey." I said.

They jumped and let out a scream, all of them including Tyler. Even I got startled.

"Don't do that after we have seen a horror movie." Diana scolded while Tyler and Stella nodded their heads in agreement. I just laughed at them, knowing deep down that if I were in their place, I would have been scared too. I shook my head and told them about the call from dad; that he said that he wanted to meet them and that he, along with mom are coming next week. I didn't say about the 'thing' he is going to tell us because it might not concern them.

I suddenly wanted to have something sweet so I asked them, "Do you guys want to have chocolate cake for dessert?"

They agreed and I told the chef to make it for dessert after dinner. We just hanged out in the games room because Tyler still wanted to play the video games. We stayed in the games room till my brothers came home, which was the time for dinner.
