The next morning, I awoke in the dirty basement of the castle where the maids quarters are located. I got dressed in my blue maids uniform with the dirty off-white apron over it. I headed up the spiral staircase in the middle of a brick tower that had no windows. I ran as quickly as I could because this particular area of the castle was the creepiest. Right, when I arrive in the main hallway I'm handed a list of chores to have done by tonight's ball. The list went on and on including sweeping, mopping, prepping food, dusting and the final chore on the list said to clean the Prince's room. I was especially dreading this chore because I felt like the prince was arrogant and entitled so it pained me to have to clean his room for him. I swept and mopped for hours around the winding castle until I had met every requirement. I couldn't deal with someone yelling at me for doing a bad job on top of trying to find a way out of here so I cleaned until the floors were spotless. After eight hours straight of cleaning, I had reached my final chore. Cleaning the prince's room. I slowly trudged down the hallway with broom and mop in hand as I contemplated an excuse. Sadly, a reason for skipping this last chore couldn't come to mind. I reached the same golden and red hallway I had landed the previous day and walked up to the prince's door. I knocked as if to not disturb his majesty. I heard no answer so I opened the door and walked in. It was surprisingly quite clean already which caught me off guard because he seemed so unorganized. I walked my way through his huge room towards his lavish bathroom and right as I walked in I heard a voice. It was at that moment that I realized I had gotten myself into a real pickle. I regretfully look up and see the prince standing there with a towel wrapped around his waist. I freeze, knowing I have made a grave mistake.
After standing paralyzed for what seemed like a year the prince said "are you done drooling yet?" I quickly scoffed and ran out of his room, grabbing the cleaning supplies I had brought with me, and dash into the familiar hallway.
I immediately cringe and feel every bone in my body tense up.
I slap my face with my hand and murmur "idiot, idiot, idiot." I slowly slide down the wall and onto the floor giving myself time to recuperate.
I hear the prince's door about to open and I stand up as quickly as possible, being extra aware of my posture.
"Don't you know how to knock?" The prince says snarkily.
I gritted my teeth trying to not get too loose my temper with the cocky prince.
"I'll have you know I did knock multiple times....your highness," I say passive-aggressively.
He rolls his eyes and walks back into his room slamming the door behind him. I pick up my stuff and go to the kitchen to get ready for the ball tonight.

When I got a better look at the location we were in the middle of the woods which made me get a little concerned about what I may have gotten myself into.
"Follow me," Torryn said looking at me then started walking away.
I jogged to catch up until I was standing next to him.
"Where are we heading now?" I asked, trying to keep up with his long legs.
"You and I are heading to Kingdom Armageddon," he started looking around the woods and tall trees.
"Just the two of us? What about all of your trusted men? You don't even know me, what if I am terrible at going undercover and end up getting us caught?" I was suspicious of why he wouldn't even bring one other person but I knew I wouldn't get us caught. I went undercover all the time.
"Yes, just us, I believe that just the two of us will have the best chance to get into the kingdom without causing suspicion," he answered calmly.
