Ein's face felt damp, automatically her fingers reached out to wipe the moisture off her face. moving her hands away from her face she noticed that it was red in color. How did she end up having ketchup on her face? she tasted her finger , it tastes like.........is that......blood? she lifted her head so fast that made her neck creak.

She was in a limestone cave, dimly lit with stalagmites hanging everywhere. how did she reach here? A ray of sunlight was seen through the stalagmites, cautiously she started to move towards the glint of sunlight.

Suddenly something yanked her dress, she became still. What if it was the person who abducted and carried her here, someone who yearns to kill her (though she could not recall any of this happenings ). When there was no movement from behind, she slowly turned her head.

A gigantic person was standing behind her, she will not be able to overthrow him even if she pulled out her whole kung fu skills. at last, she chose to seize the chance, and with all her might she turned and high kicked his head. the next scene made her roll out in laughter even though she was in extreme peril .it was merely a huge man-shaped stalagmite.

She proceeded to make way towards the sunlight and reached the opening of the cave. Surprisingly it was filled with sleeping people scattered here and there, some on top of the other. Is this some kind of refugee camp? She moved closer to one of them and kneeled down closer to his face.

The sight in front of her made her retreat in horror ,automatically she hurried towards another one. Her hands started to get cold in fear. All of them were dead, with glassy eyes staring at infinity. It resembled a war site. Feet rooted to the spot, fear crept through her like a giant snake, making her paralyzed .she wanted to run, call for help. But her whole body was against it.

At the moment a blood-curdling scream echoed through the cave. Which made her medical mentality resurge. What if someone was still out there who could be waiting for immediate medical help. She ran to the spot where the cry was heard. The sight in front of her immobilized her. It was a lake of blood, corpses flowing in it like fishes, on the opposite side of the lake there was a woman clothed in a white luminous dress emitting a glow that blurred her face, from afar Ein could make out she was mesmerizingly beautiful. Face contorted in agony. She had a huge sword in one hand, and the other one extended towards Ein.

Thump.

Ein groaned in pain as her head hit the footboard and realized that it was a mere nightmare as she dozed off while studying.
She exhaled in relief. But half of her was piqued with curiosity. How could a dream be so realistically detailed, her mind started to go on and on about the questionable elements.she usually had silly dreams, like falling down into a huge abyss, or earning judging stares from people walking through the street, later discovering she had forgotten to wear either her top or pants or missing out a step while walking downstairs and end up falling down the bed. This genre of dream was entirely new to her.

Even though it was a dream, the feelings were as if it actually happened. Ein couldn't erase the image of the lady in the white dress.
Was she extending her hand for help, or was she warning her not to come near and escape?

Finally deciding to erase those disturbing images, she stood up from the floor. she looked at the mess she made of her room; anatomy books, notes, and references spread out everywhere. She made up her mind to tidy up her room, against the will of her lazy body.
Stacked the books, straightened the eiderdown, gathered the teacups, freeing up that one chair with clothes piled up that has a tendency to scare you at night with its ability to make it look like someone is sitting there. At last, the room was spotlessly clean.

She patted herself on the back for her good work and began folding her washed clothes, she came in touch with something unfamiliar. Oh, it was the hoodie Zem let her borrow. Due to her busy schedule, she had entirely forgotten about that, and already two days have passed after that event. She was too occupied, that she even had forgotten about the book. She began to rummage through her room for the book. To her surprise it was nowhere to be seen, and being the scatterbrain she was, she couldn't even recall where she kept it. What if she had lost that book? from Zem's attitude, the book seemed pretty valuable. Panicking on what to do, she pulled her whole room upside down.it was nowhere in her room. Maybe her mom had found that book fascinating and taken it, her mind pointed out.

Ein ran downstairs, both her mom and dad are surgeons, so they were hardly seen at home. So she started to search in their room, the hall, the kitchen, and even the bathroom.it has gone missing, declared her mind making her more worried. have I searched everywhere? the bedroom- check, the kitchen-check, the hall-check, the bathroom-check, the extra room- no, no I haven't checked the extra room. but the room was strictly been forbidden for her since childhood, it was kept locked at all times.

She was notified that it was just a room for storing the old stuff. there was no way the book could reach there. although she knew the keys were kept in her mother's vanity table. being the good girl she was, she had never opened it. Eventually deciding that the book is more crucial than her being punished, she took the key from the vanity table.

Unlocked the door, it was crammed with things with a narrow path to walk through. She stepped carefully in between the articles not to upset them, scanning for the book. There were all kinds of stuff cloaked with heaps of dust. But to her apparent surprise, there was one piece of the portrait, without even a speck of dust on it. she moved towards it. Perplexed she paused midway, the portrait was of a lady and she was wearing the exact white luminous gown holding the same sword Ein saw in her dream and the book was sitting at it's foot peacefully. Was it the same lady in her dreams? Or maybe it was deja vu she might have seen this portrait long back in her childhood and had forgotten and it got mixed up in her dreams.

She decided to go out of the room as it was giving an eerie feeling. She bent down to collect the book, halted midway, noticing that the cover of the book had the same lady on it, but in a different gown. now she was totally spooked and wished to exit the room as soon as possible. she grabbed the book, abruptly a flash came out of the book which burned her hand and the book fell from her hands with a loud thud.

Ouch, she murmured to herself, rubbing on the burned spot, which has turned red by the time. It was stinging so badly she ran to the kitchen for ice cubes. The ice cubes calmed down her burned skin. few minutes passed the stinging had subdued but her mind was buzzing with recent incidents. Discarding the ice cubes, she shifted towards the light to examine the burn.

Her eyes widened in horror as a blue color crescent moon had replaced the redness at the sight of the burn. As if the Blue Moon was hiding behind the red clouds. Completely clueless of what has happened. She decided to take the book and return it as soon as possible. She hesitantly sauntered towards the room, her heart began to race as the portrait got close. The book was lying there upside down, calm like a sleeping baby. Standing at a distance she poked the book with a ladle she had taken from the kitchen as if a ghost would materialize in front of her. When it did not move or stir, like in horror movies. She picked up the book, something fell out of the book. Ein squatted to pick it up, pulled back her hand thinking about the burn, as a precaution poked with the ladle first. when nothing unusual happened she took it in her hands.

It was a red envelope with a gold wax seal in the middle.it seems old, but the seal was still intact, which means no one has opened it to date. Was it Zem's? She scrutinized the seal closely.

the wax seal had the pattern of a crescent moon (similar to the one on her hand) and an eye.
