POISON

"Medea, Medea" her father angrily yelled for her from the hall.

" Stop shouting father I am coming" Medea yelled back. " Is there a problem?" she continued whilst entering into the hall.

"Is there a problem? You are asking me is there a problem?" her father shouted angrily. She had never seen him angry like that. She stared at him confused.

"your stupid beast tried to kill a person and that too one of Selene's descendants" he continued.

"poison did?" she snickered "well that serves them right" she added. Which made her father angrier.

"what do you mean Medea.do you want to perish into smoke? We are completely powerless unless we get our hands on the book. If the synod knows we are alive, they will surely hunt us down and destroy us" his voice grew with each sentence.

Now Medea felt a little scared. They were just puffs of black smoke now without any power. What if the synod comes and destroys them?

"I have told you a hundred times not to sent poison to hunt alone, he is a beast of the devil's Medea, he will slay all the humans out there mercilessly without any second thoughts" he continued, veins throbbing on his forehead. Which was a danger sign always.

"This is the last time I warn you Medea. If this happens again I will kill poison and bottle his black power" her father snarled menacingly.

Medea's eyes started to tear up hearing about her beloved pet being killed. Poison was the only thing who understood her.she was about to leave the room when Jake entered the room stumbling.

"My lady, master, I have found the book of life" he cried out happily.

Both Medea and her father whirled their head towards him.

" what?" Medea asked

" I have found the book of life, my lady" he repeated proudly.

From the inner pocket of his cloak, he brought out a thick hard spine book. Medea moved towards it and extended her hand to pick it up.

"don't touch the book Medea" her father called out from the back. she looked at him disputing.

"The book is made up of pure Selene powers. If our black powers come in contact with it disappears into nothingness at the moment itself" he explained.

"but father Jake is holding it" Medea complained.

"he doesn't have the inner black force, Jake bring the book and place it on this table" he instructed.

"you shall be heavily awarded, Jake" Medea added.

"It is my duty my lady" Jake answered.

Both of them moved closer to the book. It was an old book, the front covering has been blurred. It had an illustration of a great Blue Moon crescent-shaped diamond. They bend down to examine what it was. Medea lost balance and caught the book. The atmosphere got tensed. Everything was calm for a minute.

"nothing happened haha-" before Medea could finish the sentence the book began to puff out white smoke which formed clouds around it. From it came out a woman in a white gown and brandished her huge sword at them. They moved backward terrified.

"you think your little stunts are enough to get the book of life?" she strode forwards with the sword.

"you are nothing but filthy evil demons" she continued.

"you have destroyed the world and its caretakers, you will soon be cursed into nothingness" she was so close to Medea now.

She took her knife and plunged into Medea's heart. Medea fell backward in pain.with that everything disappeared. The book was gone too.

Medea clutched her heart "she is not dead?" she inquired in horror. The spot where the sword struck was still stinging as if it was a real sword. She rubbed her chest to make the pain go away.

"The three books are guarded by the Selene unless a new Selene is crowned she will remain to protect it" her father explained still transfixed staring at the spot the women stood.

"Jake go and find the book again" Medea ordered before her father could chastise her about her mistake.

"yes my lady, I shall find it for you " Jake responded scared.

" No need Jake, this time Medea will find it" her father ordered in a calm voice which meant no objections should be raised. He left the room announcing that with Jake tailing him.

"Ughh, why do I always have to be treated like this" media cried out in anger.

The poison was still not back. Did her father do something to him? They both were so similar. Ignored and everyone got scared just looking at them. She moved towards her room to search for poison.

" master the boy was almost dead when they took him but it seems he is healthy now.isn't something suspicious?" Jake enquired to him

"It has something to it. For now, I need you to follow Medea silently wherever she goes and report everything back to me" her father instructed.

"yes, master I will" Jake left from the room.

his mind was still filled with the image if the woman, was she by any chance alive?
