MYSTERIES

She licked the spoon. Yum, chocolate chip icecreams are the best. Sitting under the umbrella stand outside at Baskin Robbins, basking in the sun, savoring her ice cream was her favorite weekend hobby. She looked around ,there were only a few kids scattered here and there. This place had a special solace to it so that she could clear out all her muddled up thoughts.

The dream of the lady in a white luminous dress kept on repeating whenever she slept. The letters were still in the book unopened andd the beasts and the other incidents kept on replaying in her head. She was convinced by now that she is not a normal human being, maybe she is an alien her mind joked. The bell on the door rang indicating that someone has exited the shop. She continued to ponder .

"Einnn is that you?" someone yelled from the back.

Ein whirled her head back. There stood the person who could solve all these mysteries for her. She ran and hugged Zem in relief and happiness. Even though they had only met once it was like meeting a childhood friend for her.

"I thought you moved abroad Zem, even your shop was missing" that's when she noticed there was a boy, with curly hair, sharp blue eyes and extremely handsome with her.

"oh, I forgot to introduce you guys. Ein meet Oliver.he is my boyfriend, more like a husband" Zem said in a shy voice
With one more person present there, Ein retreated a little inwards. Oliver noticed this.
"hehe, don't be shy Ein, consider me like your own brother," he said with a cute dimpled smile.

Ein was an introvert typically. They both might be the first people who she got comfortable so fast with. Oliver went to order for Zem and himself .Zem entwined her hands with Eins and made way towards the table Ein was sitting.

"I have a lot of stuffs to talk with you but before that tell me how you guys met," Ein asked with a wink.
"Hehe you will not believe when I say how" Zem replied
"try me" Ein challenged, with all the recent incidents,even if someone says they saw a flying elephant she will indeed believe them.

"in our clan. Our marriages are decided when we are born itself" Zem replied.

"in 'our', you mean I am also similar to you guys?" Ein inquired with her curiosity perked up.

Oliver chuckled from the back and joined them with two ice creams.

"you sound like we belong in a mafia gang or something Ein" Oliver mocked her.

"I believe you are also one of us as you can see the book of aura" replied Zem .

Ein nodded seriously
"This wasn't the expression I was expecting from a human who was abruptly told they are not an ordinary human Ein" Oliver playfully added. Both Ein and Zem giggled at this.

"stop goofing around Ol" she playfully scolded Oliver.

How nice was it to have met your soulmate at a young age Ein thought. If she was one of them will she also have someone like that? her mind started going overboard.

"so you wanted to talk to me about something?" Zem interrupted her thoughts.
Ein started reciting a summarised version of the whole story. A lot of expressions passed through their face, shifting from horror, surprise, thoughtful and she even noticed a smirk on Zem's face when she mentioned about the boy in the alley. Atlast she winded up her story.

The three of them sat silently for a minute.
"there's been more than hundreds of descendants of the Selene. But they were either killed or went missing after the war of the black. That was when we were few months old,so I have no idea who's family you are from." zen explained

"the saeva beast only attacks people who have a strong aroma of the moon in their blood and that only happens when you are a direct descendant of the Selene. But the previous Selene and her family were killed in the war and noone has yet officially been crowned as the new Selene. even we have not seen those beasts, you might have been terrified" Oliver continued where Zem left off.

Ein listened to all of these in utter silence. But her mind was babbling on and on. does the moon have a smell to it? her parents are normal humans how could she be a descendant from the moon?

" and about the lady,you saw in your dreams, do you have any more details on her?" Zem once again interrupted her thoughts.
"Yeah, she was wearing a white luminous gown. Her face was blurred and there was a sword in her hand" Ein replied, both Oliver and Zem were thinking hard.
"and one more thing, the book I borrowed from you has the same ladies face" she blurted out.
Both Zem and Oliver swiveled their heads so fast in her direction with a stunned expression. did she say something wrong?

Suddenly Zem's phone rang. Which cut them off their staring competition. 'mom' flashed on her screen'

"Hey, mom" Zem answered it cheerfully. After a few seconds, her expression changed into shock then into grief. "I will be there soon mom" she replied and cut off the phone.
She turned to Oliver.
"something attacked Aze. He is dead" Zem announced.
