Kendra's POV
I waited and waited but nothing happened. Neither Zayn, the boys or Paul were in sight. I was shaking from worrying to much, what if they were still in the burning building? I shook the horrible thought away from my mind and looked around.
Tall strangers were blocking my view, I've probably been standing out here for 20 minutes now. The fire had escalated rather quickly to which seems like the whole building now.
So many people were crowding around and honestly it broke my heart. What if they were waiting for their lost loved ones too?
I felt someone grab me and I spun around, "Taylor?" I choked out.
"H-hey," he said shakily. Why was he here?
"What are you doing here?" I blurted out loudly. There was no reason for him to be here!
"The fire's all over the news, do your parents know you're okay?" His attention seemed to be else where.
"Yeah," I replied awkwardly. I called them after I got out of the hotel, reassuring them that I was fine and not hurt.
"Where's Zayn?" He asked with a weird gleam in his brown eyes, almost like he was pleased he wasn't in sight.
"I don't know.." I turned my attention back to the hotel. I didn't want Taylor around me, I didn't feel comfortable with him.
"Oh! Is he still in there?" I heard his voice from behind me ask.
"Kendra," I saw a figure break through a crowded group, it was Zayn.
I flew my shaken arms around him and grasped him hard, "I am so happy you're okay," I breathed out. He rubbed my back but then released me with a confused expression across his features.
"What?" I asked cautiously. He was holding a yellow crumpled up sheet that wasn't in his fingertips a few moments ago.
His eyes widened and he looked at me with fear, "This was on your back.." I quickly grabbed it out of his fingers and scanned over the messily written note, it read, "maybe you should of listened to me."
This probably was referring to the phone call I received! Somebody anonymously told me to leave the hotel if I wanted to live and I stayed and then the fire started..
"Zayn!" Suddenly a memory flushed into my mind, "when we were going down the stairs I felt something hit my back! I turned around but no one was there!" I just stood there starring at the paper. Paul and the other boys flooded behind Zayn, with more confused looks.
"Somebody tried to kill us," Zayn repeated slowly.
"Yeah.." I breathed out, shutting my eyes tightly. When i opened them back up, I turned around to look at Taylor but he wasn't there. He was gone.
"Taylor was just here," I told Zayn. Why would he randomly show up and then leave?
"Where did he go?" He asked curiously.
"I don't know! He was here one second and then right when you showed up, gone!" I couldn't even handle what was going on.
Niall interrupted our conversation, "can we just go back someplace, like your house and talk?"
"Yeah.. Sure," I answered, grabbing Zayn's hand. I tried to get everything to sink in.. Somebody tried to warn me to get out of a building that THEY were going to set on fire? What was happening? And who did this?
