Chapter 10.
Kendra's POV
I was laying on my bed looking up at the ceiling. Nothing could make me feel better. I'll never be happy.
My parents went out to a movie, I really wanted them to get out of here so I could be alone. They kept resisting but i wanted them to leave. Robbie had to head back to work, he was on lunch break when he came here. All I wanted to do was scream.
Suddenly my phone started to let out a loud buzzing sound. Who could that be? I groaned and reached for it, clicking answer without reading the number.
"Hi Kendra," I heard a familiar voice say on the other line. Taylor.
"Erm.. Hey," I wasn't really in the mood to talk to anybody.
"Want to do something?" He asked. I mean I could do something with him but I didn't feel like it right now. Anyways I thought him and I were going to do something tomorrow?
"I don't feel good," I replied back with a sniffle. I didn't, so it's not like I lied to him.
"Come on, ill make you feel better?"
"How?" I said with curiosity in my voice.
"I'll show you once I get there," he said with an edge in his seductive voice.
"Okay," I let in. I gave him the directions to my house and he said he'll be here in 10 minutes. What did I just agree to? I was in no mood to talk to anyone.
I dragged myself out of bed and headed downstairs onto the couch. I just laid there, thinking my life over. I didn't even bother to look in the mirror to get myself all dolled up for Taylor, what was the point?
I got a text message from my mom, it read, "probably gonna go c another movie w/ dad after this 1 ends! U ok alone?" I wouldn't be alone but either way I'd be fine. "Ya," I replied back without hesitation.
I turned on the television and started to flip through the channels. Nothing looked good. I groaned, laying back down on the couch.
Riley started to bark and ran to the front door, i heard a car door slam outside. I could feel my heartbeat speed up. Knock Knock. I jolted up from the couch and ran to the door, running my cold fingers through my hair before i opened up the door.
"That was fast," I said as i opened the door. In front of me was Taylor wearing a brown sweatshirt with baggy jeans. He was wearing Jordan's on his feet and had his brown hair all scruffled in front of his eyes. In his hand was a bag full of something.
"Hey," he replied with a bright smile. He grabbed my waist and pulled me close to him while pushing us both into the house but slamming the door behind him. I heard something hit the ground, it must of been the mysterious bag because he took my face into both his hands and started to kiss me.
We fell onto the couch, him ontop of me. How could I be kissing him like this already? I pulled away, starring into his confused eyes.
"Um," I said with an awkward expression spread on my face, "what's in the bag?" I asked pointing to the one on the ground a couple paces away.
"Ah, almost fogot," he got up and reached over to the handle's pulling it over to the middle of us. He took out things one by one, chocolate and flowers.
"For me?" I asked with my cheeks getting rosey.
He nodded and placed the red roses in my hand, I wrapped my fingers around the thick stem. When was the last time I possibly recieved flowers? I know I would be getting a ton when I was laying pulse-less in my coffin though, which wouldn't be far from now.
"Something wrong?" Taylor asked with concern in his voice.
"N-no," I hesitated, while biting my bottom lip. I picked my eyes up from the roses and locked onto his brown eyes.
"That's a lie," he spat back.
"Well.. I guess."
"Tell me," his voice sounded demanding. I jumped at the sound of his loud tone.
"I have Sarcoma.." I let out quietly.
We just sat there for a few moments, taking what I just said, in. He would go to speak but then let out a huff and stop. If I was him I wouldn't know how to respond either.
"My sister had that.." He said with a crack in his voice.
"Oh.. I thought you were an only child?"
"I am, now," Taylor looked down at the ground.
"Wow.. I'm so sorry.." I said with tears filling my eyes.
He let out a loud laugh, "I'm just kidding! You're stupid to even think that I was serious! Now you stop lying!" His words took me a while to process until I realized, he thought I was joking.
"You think I'm lying? And cancer is nothing to joke about," I said harshly.
"Yeah, you obviously are."
"I'm not lying!" I screamed out, getting frusterated he wouldn't believe me.
"Yeah, okay," he said sarcastically.
"Get out. Leave." I pointed to the front door. I couldn't handle this right now.
"My pleasure," he got up and walked to the door slamming it behind him.
And just like that, he was gone. One less person to worry about leaving me before I was forced to leave them.
