Prom was only 3 days away and with that in mind, I knew Hannah was majorly depressed with having no one to go with. Abdul made no move on her and so here I was doing the one thing I dreaded most.

Everything was arranged just the way she would like it. A lot of students gathered around me loosely outside, other seniors giving me well wishes of good luck. Hannah walked out, blindfold on and the beautiful lily bouquet in her hands, lilies were her favourite flowers. She had a wide smile stretched across her face as Ava led her to the middle of the circle, our group of friends immediately shielding me from her sight.

"Ok, take your blindfold off, Little birdie." Ava sung out. Hannah took off her blindfold and gasped, lily petals were sprinkled across the pavement. My friends began the dance number and moved out, letting me be seen holding a little ring box. Hannah bit her lip, her eyes welling with tears.

As the song ended, she made eye contact with me and mouthed a thank you. I just smiled, she walked up to me and I held her hand as I got on one knee. "You know I dread Promopsals, but you seem to love them so here I am. Prom?" Hannah grinned, wiping at a fake tear, "Oh yes, yes, a million times yes. I doooooo." I snorted at her as I put on the gorgeous azure stone ring I bought for her.

She admired it, "This was the one I said I wanted for my birthday, you remembered." She said quietly, her voice awestruck. I smiled, "Of course I did hun, you're my best friend." "Damn right I am." The rest of the group cheered and awed at us and I simply waved at them as if I was queen.

Prom Day

All us girls agreed to get ready at Deanne's house, since it was the biggest and she had the most makeup. We were all sitting in fancy bathrobes, admiring Deannes rich house when she walked in with mimosas, "Shhh, don't act too drunk in front of my parents." She shot us a sly wink and we laughed, each grabbing a cocktail glass.

I stared at my wet hair in the mirror, unsure of what to do with it. I took out the blow dryer and dried it, then I straightened it and added curls at the bottom. For makeup, I knew less was more and I never wore makeup in the first place so I decided on light gold eyeshadow with black edges and a black line of eyeliner across my top lid. I airbrushed some foundation, a bit of golden highlighter, some blush and mauve lips. "Wow." Ava said. "Wow indeed." Kylie replied.

I rolled my eyes at them, "Yah, Yah, what about you? All of you are looking bomb." Kylie giggled and swept at her hair, drawing attention to the big barrette on it. I stepped out of my robe and put my dress on, wearing my heels as well and swirling. All the girls stared at me as I twirled a bit. "I...you... Mr. Grant will forget all about the teacher student policy." I blushed at Ava's words, she really wasn't dropping this whole Mr. Grant thing.

I waited for the others to get ready, Deanne's mom was like a mother to all of us so she took about a hundred photos. She also took some of me and Hannah together since we were each other's dates. We hopped into the limo the boys brought, waved goodbye and partied with champagne and chocolates till we arrived at the banquet hall.

I had to be honest, the banquet hall looked like a dream come true. The theme was, "Old-fashioned", various posters of old bands and singers were plastered on the walls, the decoration looked very antique, Victorian style as well as the furniture. I shook my head smiling, thinking of how, at home, Steve felt. I tried to spot him in the crowd and couldn't see him anywhere.

Our group got a table and we ate the food, which was delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal. The apple, peach pie with vanilla ice cream was to die for, also the warm chocolate chip cookies. Hannah and I danced and danced, even to slow songs. We shared a few kisses when Ryan was looking and our whole friend group twerked on one another at the high tempo songs. A short break was issued and I was just about to twirl Hannah onto the dance floor when Abdul walked up to us. His curly locks fell over his eyes as he blushed, "Hannah you look gorgeous... I mean you both do, I just meant-" "Give it a rest Abdul." I said shaking my head. "Can I have this next dance?" He asked Hannah. She looked at me and I smiled, "Yah sure, I'm a bit tired anyways."

I made my way to our friend group's two tables and sat down on my chair. My feet ached slightly with the long heels I was earring, I rubbed at them sighing and taking a sip of water. I was glancing down so at first, I didn't notice the looming presence that shadowed my whole body. I looked up to see Steve, a lopsided smile on his face. He was wearing a black suit with a blue silk shirt and looked absolutely drop-dead gorgeous.

He held out a hand for me, "May I have this dance?" I shook my head, "You know I want to but-" He cut me off, "You see, the teachers and I started this initiative to be more inclusive and inviting, every kid that doesn't have someone to dance with can share dances with teachers." I looked around me, sure enough, seeing several teachers holding out their hands to students who were alone. Mr. Hug (who was young and quite hot) held a hand out for Kylie to take as most of the night she intruded in on Simi and Derek's date. Ms. Skinn, who was previously injured, asked Brent, a dark-skinned, good-looking athlete to dance with her. I smiled up at Steve, "You're amazing." He chuckled, "I know."

I took his hand and he pulled me onto the dance floor, a high-tempo song playing in the background. "You want more privacy?" Steve asked, I nodded, wondering what he had planned. He sneaked me out of the hall, out into the cool night air, to the beautiful balcony in the backyard. A small white, wooden tent was standing in the middle of several rose bushes and trees that obscured it from any oncomer's vision. A single radio sat on one of the benches.

As we walked up, Steve took out what seemed to be a small remote and pressed "play". Instantly, my favourite song came on. What would I do without your smart mouth? "May I?" I took Steve's hand, tears welling in my eyes as he pulled me in close. Drawing me in, and you kicking me out "I know it's your favourite." Steve whispered, I only pulled him tighter, my head resting on his chest. You've got my head spinning, No kidding, I can't pin you down, "Every new day is always a surprise with you, a struggle, maybe that's why I'm so addicted to you." Steve whispered.

What's going on in that beautiful mind, I'm on your magical mystery ride, And I'm so dizzy, Don't know what hit me, But I'll be alright. "Well, hopefully." I laughed. My head's under water, But I'm breathing fine, You're crazy and I'm out of my mind "With you, I am." I smiled into his chest. 'Cause all of me Loves all of you, Love your curves and all your edges, All your perfect imperfections, Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you, You're my end and my beginning, Even when I lose I'm winning, 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, ohoh "Every inch of you is perfect." Silent tears fell from my eyes, wetting Steve's suit.

How many times do I have to tell you Even when you're crying you're beautiful too,The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood, You're my downfall, you're my muse, My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues, I can't stop singing, It's ringing, in my head for you Steve began to sing along with the lyrics, his voice full of emotion. My head's under water, But I'm breathing fine, You're crazy and I'm out of my mind, 'Cause all of me Loves all of you, Love your curves and all your edges, All your perfect imperfections, Give your all to me I'll give my all to you, You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning, 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, ohoh, Give me all of you, We both started singing, our voices mixing together in perfect harmony, our emotions for one another so strong and passionate.

Cards on the table, We're both showing hearts, Risking it all, though it's hard, 'Cause all of me Loves all of you, Love your curves and all your edges All your perfect imperfections, Give your all to me I'll give my all to you, You're my end and my beginning Even when I lose I'm winning, 'Cause I give you all of me And you give me all of you, I give you all of me, And you give me all of you, ohoh. We finished off, my throat raw from both crying and singing with such pure motion, such love and compassion that I had for this man.

"That's the first time you've said you love me." I whispered, realization dawning on me, Steve nodded, "That's because this is how I feel about you. And I know, it's only been roughly, ten months of us dating, but still I love you. Gods Megan Xavier Brooks, you have changed my life forever, nothing will ever be the same without you. I need you, I love you, I LOVE YOU." I stared at Steve, open-mouthed, "I love you too." I whispered, throwing my arms around him and pressing a sweet and passion-filled kiss to his lips in a fervent attempt to express my deep love for him. Maybe it was crazy, falling in love with someone after ten months, maybe it was crazy of us to start dating after three days, but this felt so right, so natural, and I couldn't care less if it was crazy, as long as we had each other.
