Megan's POV

We were sprawled out across the city, I stood in the heart of it. Usually, New York City would be bustling with activity, but due to the past few days, residents have decided to stay within their homes. I stood in a barren street, waiting for the Avengers, and hoping they wouldn't show. A lone train track stood to my back, but no trains passed by.

I hoped that they wouldn't show up today, if Steve was anywhere near smart he'd know to give up and run away. Besides, I was a goddess, I couldn't be killed. Left in such torment and pain that my essence itself could be destroyed, but I couldn't die. Suddenly, I heard a crack and whipped my head around to see the Avengers with grim expressions on their face walking my way. I sighed, feeling mass annoyance and disappointment at Steve for bringing the Avengers into this.

"Why'd you show up?" Steve glanced at the other Avengers nervously, ahhh, so he hadn't told them about our conversation. "Meg," his voice cracked, "Please, this is your last chance." I laughed without humor, "I can't." "Well, why the hell not?" I heard a clear, high pitched voice that I thought I'd never hear again. The same voice that sang me to sleep in my childhood, and calmed me through my tantrums.

The women that I least wanted here walked from behind the Avengers. My mother showed her face, her eyes still cold towards me, "I raised you better than this." I shook my head, "You shouldn't be here Mama." "And we just let you hurt people." A voice squeaked out. My brother came out from behind Tony. "Faaz." I whispered. He smiled sheepishly, "Hey, Baji." I fell to my knees, tears falling down my face, as I looked at my brother.

He walked slowly to me, my arms open to hug him. When he reached me, I enveloped him in a tight hug, sobbing into his shoulder. "Oh Gods Faaz, baby." He hugged me back tight, none of us wanting to let go of the other. However, I had business to deal with, I stood up, "YOU BROUGHT MY FAMILY HERE!" I roared in anger. Steve flinched, "You need to hear it from them." "Hear what?" "Hear what you're doing wrong." I held up a hand. "Baji, please." Faaz pleaded with me, his eyes wide with hurt and worry.

"I..." "I know you're still in there Baji, this is not you." I shook my head, "You're right, this isn't me." I looked at my hands in horror, "Oh god, what have I done." "Nothing yet, join us." I looked up at Steve, my thoughts being muddled together. "I..." "MEGAN." Kronos's voice boomed across the city, his eyes coming into view. "THINK FOR YOURSELF. ALL THESE PEOPLE HAVE EVER DONE IS HURT YOU." I looked around at Steve who left me, my mom who seemed to be disgusted by me ever since she found out my dad raped me, then my brother, although he was innocent of ever hurting even a fly let alone a human being.

I pinched the bridge of my nose, getting a massive headache, "So this is who you chose? C'mon Steve is better than this maniac." My mom mumbled, mainly because she knew I was about to blow. I could feel my entire body radiate with anger, panic and concern and judging from everyone's gasps I knew I was probably bathed in a red light that would rub me off to be an evil vampire.

"Uhh, Lady Megan, are you alright?" Thor asked in the most polite of ways, that just made me more frustrated. I didn't want to hurt these people, hell, I didn't want to hurt Steve but my vengeance had blinded me from making the appropriate choices, well not anymore. I could still change, but the first thing I had to do was get my family out of harm's way. "Steve, get my mother and brother out of here." My mom looked at me and stubbornly set her jaw, "I'm not leaving you." "Ma, I've tried to do things your way, after dad left, things had been tough between us, but please trust me. I don't want to hear anything, please just go." My mom looked at me with concern evident on her face, "But Baji." "FAAZ, FOR GOD'S SAKE." he seemed taken aback by my tone and I softened my voice, "Please, baby, you need to listen to me."
