I felt a hand jostle me awake, "What?" I looked around in my room to see Kronos standing over me, grinning like a madman. "What do you want?" I asked, trying not to show my discomfort and annoyance at him being in my room this early. "Steven Grant Rogers, the one who broke your heart and whom you solely want revenge on." I turned around, groaning, "What about him?" "He's here." I got up so fast that the sudden blood rush left tears and black spots in my eyes and a pounding headache, "HE WHAT?" Kronos now looked a little less happy, his smile dropping, "I...um..." "Well?" "I had him kidnapped and brought here." I felt faint, "YOU DID WHAT?"

Kronos, for the first time since me being with him, looked utterly terrified, "Well...you see." "What, cat got your tongue now that you know I can kill you." I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Where is he?" Kronos kept quiet, looking at the floor, my voice sounded very dangerously angry as I leaned in, "Where. Is. He?" I asked through clenched teeth. Kronos gulped, "infirmary."

I rushed towards the medical bay, halfway there I realized I can just transport myself, so I did. When I entered, I saw a figure slumped over a cold, metal chair. "Oh gosh." I walked up to him, gingerly running my hands over his face. "KRONOS." I screamed and he materialized beside me, "Yes dear?" His voice quivered, "What did you do to him?" Kronos rushed over his words, "Nothing, we didn't even touch him. We just drugged him to sleep and that's it." I had to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from strangling Kronos right then and there, "With whose permission?"

Kronos looked like a kid that had been scolded, "Well, it was supposed to be a gift for you. Get your revenge on him and get it over easily without having an audience." I ran a hand through my hair, sighing, "Why do you think I would want to do that?" Kronos blinked, "I mean, you had 3 days to kill him but you kept delaying. We thought it was because of stage fright, however is that not the case? Have you gone soft? Remember, this is the man who left you wallowing in pain?" "You are too for that matter, should I kill you as well?" Kronos gulped and tried for a smile, "My dea-" I cut him off, "Get him back to his sleeping quarters."

"But..." Kronos's statement died in his throat when he saw the look on my face, "Ofcourse, right away." He called for a henchman and I saw him hoist Steve's drugged body over his shoulder and Kronos teleported him to and back from the SHIELD plane/ship.

Steve's POV

I woke up feeling muggy and confused, I had the weirdest dream I thought. I got up and got ready for the day, knowing that today would be the day that would decide Megan's fate. I just hoped that she would hear me out and hopefully change to the good side. I couldn't afford to lose her again, she probably thought I was an, excuse my language, ass for leaving her 2 years? 12 years? back. I could deal with that though, I could deal with her thinking of whatever she wanted to for my absence that day. What I couldn't deal with was her dying, taking her last breaths and me seeing the whole thing, I couldn't bear that.

A knock on the door startled me from my thoughts, I hadn't even said anything yet when Tony strode in. "What's up capsicle?" I sighed, "Have you been taught manners and social convention?" Tony thought about it, "Weird question, but yah." "Then use them." Tony held up his hands, a smile playing on his lips, "Someone's mad." I shrugged, "I know why." I looked up, an amused expression on my face, "You probably don't, but entertain me."

Tony grinned, "It's your old flame." I coughed, "I'm sorry, my old what?" Tony laughed, "Your ex Cap'. The girl you fancied." I felt my annoyance rise at Tony, "So what if it's about her?" "You're scared she won't change her feelings." I sighed, nodding. "What if I told you I had someone who might be able to convince her?" I looked up, my eyes wide, "Who?"

Tony smiled, "You'll find that out in 10 minutes, get everyone to the debriefing room." I rushed to all of my colleagues' doors, eager to hear Tony's idea. In less than 3 minutes, everyone was seated around a round table in one of the debriefing rooms.

Fury stepped forward, "I believe Tony, you've requested this meeting." Tony looked up, looking bored, "Hmm, oh yah. I have an idea to save Cap's girlfriend." I felt my cheeks get hot at Tony's words, "Well, let's hear it then." Natasha ushered Tony along. He showed a picture of a beautiful woman in her mid-forties wearing a hijab, hugging a boy that seemed familiar. "That's Faaz, Megan's brother." I said, realization hitting me as he came along for Parent-Teacher interviews.

Tony pointed at me, "Exactimo. This picture was taken 2 days ago with the caption, 'My beautiful boy turned 12.' I'm thinking this can sway Megan's opinion." Everyone nodded, but Fury spoke up, "Do we really want to bring innocent civilians into this mess though?" I cleared my throat, effectively gaining everyone's attention, "Look Sir, I know you have your protocols in place that everyone needs to strictly adhere to, but is it worth it to have more property destroyed, more lives lost? We can prevent more damage from happening." I could tell that I had swayed most of the Avengers opinions.

"I have a question." Bruce spoke up, we all turned our heads towards him, "Uhm, why does everyone call us the Avengers?" Natasha snorted, "That's the name I had thought out for your lot." Fury answered. "Our lot?" Thor asked, a dangerous edge to his voice, "You know, supernatural people, superheroes." Thor grunted and gave a simple nod.

"How far away are they, Tony?" Clint spoke. "Not much, actually. They're in New York, Manhattan." "So give or take half an hour?" Nat asked. "With this plane, more like 5 minutes." Fury spoke up. "I guess it's a plan." Clint muttered, "I guess it is." I replied, feeling hopeful for the first time in many days.

Fury had spent two hours inside talking with Megan's mom while her brother and I got acquainted. "Cool, so you're like the real Iron Man?" Tony smiled, "Sure am kid." For some reason Faaz had taken a liking to Tony rather than me, but I was alright with not, wasn't jealous or anything. "So...wait...you know what, nevermind." Tony furrowed his eyebrows, "What's up, kid?" Faaz looked up, glancing at each of us there in turn, "So, you fight my sister." he whispered.

The hall got real quiet, Natasha bent down, her eyes level with Faaz's, she took one of his small hands in hers, "Sweetheart, the only reason you're here is so that we don't have to fight with your sister." Faaz nodded, trying to keep in the tears in his eyes, but we all knew it must be hard for him. "You really love her, don't you?" Clint asked, Faaz nodded. "Someone else really loves her on this team as well and he's not going to let her die!" Bruce spoke up. He was so quiet that moments like these surprised me. He looked at me with grudging admiration and gave me a nod.

Faaz looked at me, "She always did have a thing for you." That got us all laughing. "Please don't hurt my sister." He pleaded, I put a hand on his arm, "That's the last thing I want to do." "Well then, I guess you're clear on the plan." Fury's voice boomed across the hall as he and Megan's mom came into focus. "I am." She replied in a perfectly clear American accent. She looked at all of us, "As a mother, I just want to thank you for protecting my baby girl." Natasha smiled at her, "Of course."

Fury led the two to their room as we prepared for what appeared to be the final battle.
