Megan's POV
The battle today didn't seem to be going any better than the battle yesterday. The back and forth was one thing, but I knew I had the power to kill them all and yet I tried to hurt them as little as possible, it was making me crazy. I didn't know why I cared about them, I mean the main reason I was here was to destroy them completely.
I felt my energy levels deplete again and I teleported to a room in an abandoned building close by. It seemed like minutes had passed by in the dark, silent room when I heard footsteps approach. I stood up, getting myself ready in a fighting stance when Steve walked through the room. His hands were raised, "Don't do anything. I only want to talk." I grumbled, "I told you, ain't nothing to talk about. I'm done talking." Steve glanced to one side, "Oh, I don't know about that. There seems to be plenty we need to talk about."
I sighed as he stared at me, "You turned time back, why?" I shrugged, "So that the team can be weakened since it was just formed, this way I can kill you all more easily." He shook his head, "You're not trying to kill us, but that's another conversation. Why do I remember everything and why hasn't anyone gotten younger." I bit my lip, "I... my power can only turn back time for events, not age. It can erase memories though, I don't have an explanation as to how you could possibly have all of yours."
"Because you wanted me to remember." I rolled my eyes, "remember what, Steve?" He smiled softly at me, "Remember our memories together." "And why would I want that?" "Possibly, because you still love me but don't want to admit it." I felt panic rise within me, I did love him, but I wouldn't ever tell anyone, let alone him that. So I laughed, "Yeah, I still love you after what you did to me." Steve frowned, "See, you keep saying that but you aren't telling me what I did."
I blinked, "You seriously don't know?" I asked. He shook his head, "No idea." I had noticed that during the course of our conversation, Steve had gotten a lot closer to me, standing right infront of me now. "You left me." I whispered, "No, I didn't." Steve said, "Yes you did, you left me alone after you slept with me and my mom kicked me out and I had to fend for myself until Kronos found me." Steve's eyes widened, "Oh, that day." I nodded, tears falling from my eyes.
He quickly spun me into his chest, kissing me long and hard, I felt my love for him bloom in my heart but I also felt indescribable pain seeping its way into me emotionally. I gently pushed him away, "The next time I see you, I'll have to kill you. If you and your friends are smart, they'd flee the country." And with that I teleported from the room into my prison in Kronos's facility once again.

Steve's POV
Washing my face with cold water wasn't making my eyes any less puffy nor red. Perhaps, as a Captain and a man I shouldn't have cried, but my emotions were overwhelming and it caused me to break down, to start a flood. We had a debriefing in two minutes and I was looking like a moony-eyed mess just because I couldn't get over this one girl.
I took deep breaths, composing myself before making my way to one of the many meeting rooms onboard this plane/ship. Everyone sat around a table, Fury saw me approaching and clasped his hands together. No one seemed to notice my state or they rather wouldn't comment on it, cutting me some slack.
"Cap', did you get a chance to talk to her?" I looked up at Fury then around the room, was I ready to lie to these people in order to save the woman I love? If it came down to the world or my heart, was I ready to throw it away? Perhaps I was selfish, but I knew Megan. I believed in my heart that she could be convinced, that instead of bad she wanted to do good. I also knew that Fury was a bit rash and he had made mistakes before, I didn't want Megan to be another mistake so I said, "No, unfortunately I couldn't talk to her today."
Fury nodded, "But today, she tried not to hurt you all." Everyone nodded. "A car was thrown at my head by the gold-eyed dude and Femme Fatale disintegrated the car before it could hit me." Tony spoke casually, "Oh man, what if the gold-eyed person hurts her since she saved us from him." Everyone was quiet, no one had an answer, "Technically, she put her life in danger to save ours." Natasha spoke under her breath. Everyone mumbled some sort of agreement, Fury stroked his beard. "Perhaps then, we need to recruit her. It seems as if her heart is in the right place." Everyone agreed and I breathed a sigh of relief, I was not about to give up on Megan.
After the meeting, I was thinking hard in my room when a knock came from the door. "Come in." Natasha walked in, holding a tray of a variety of cookies. "These are really good, you should try them." She spoke through a mouthful of what seemed like chocolate chips. I shrugged, picking one up from the warm batch, a chocolate cookie melted in my mouth. "Wow." Nat laughed, "Yeah. So how'd your conversation with Megan go?"
I laughed nervously, "What conv-" Natasha cut me off, "Oh you know the one where you guys kissed." I bit my lip, "you saw that, huh?" Natasha shrugged casually, "You were standing close to a window." I sighed, running a hand through my hair, Natasha bounced onto my makeshift bed, "Did you guys do it?" I laughed, "I expected that question from Tony, not you." Natasha smiled, "Just curious." I nodded, blushing deeply, but Natasha didn't seem to notice my answer as she stared intently at the window sill.
"What's up?" She narrowed her eyes, "I don't know, but maybe you should switch rooms." "Why?" I asked, she clenched her jaw, "I don't have an answer really, just a feeling, premonition I guess." I nodded, "Well, it's getting late right now, I'll switch rooms tomorrow." I could tell she didn't like that but nonetheless she got up, leaving the tray on a small table in the room.
I was tired, I stretched my arms over my head, yawning, I was about to turn out for the day when I felt a needle inject itself in my arm and someone whispered, "Lights out, Captain." I blacked out.
