Sudden Change

Chapter 2

Courtney POV

"What do you mean my son is missing?" I ask the person on the other side of the phone, Ms. Amy.

"Ms. Miller, his classmate told me that Cullum run away when the bell rang-"

"He's just six, what if something happens to him."

"Calm down Ms. Miller, we are doing what we can. Can I ask you one question?"

"Yes, of course." I said as I fixed my things and grab my bag. I went to Wahlid's office.

"Did something happened in your house? Your son wasn't in his usual self. I saw some changes in him."

I stopped my tracks when I heard her.

"Nothing happened, whenever when he's in our house he acts normally."

I heard her sigh.

"I know I'm not in the place to tell you what to do, but what ever happening, it's affecting Cullum. I promised him I won't tell you about this, but I think you should know. Cullum usually come to me and ask about what is the feeling having a father. He is seeking for a father Ms. Miller. He doesn't want to hide things with you, and the reason why he never told you that because he said whenever he bring out about his father he can see in you that it's hurting you, and he doesn't want to see you like that. Before he went missing, he cried to me and telling me he don't need to see his father, he just want to know him. That's atleast what he wanted."

I can't respond and still processing what she said.

"I'll text you when we have an update." And the call end.

I wipe my tears and knock on the door before opening, I saw Wahlid typing on his laptop.

"Excuse me Sir, I need to leave early."

He looked up to me.

"Why? Is there something wrong?"

"It's emergency, my son is missing. I need to fin--"

"Courtney, slow down. In your state you can't drive, relax."

"I just need to leave."

"Okay, I'll come with you." I look at him surprised.

"You don't have to-".

"But I want to, I know how important your son to you."

I didn't argue, the time is running and I need to see my  son now.

I received a text from Ms. Amy.

Someone said that they saw Cullum at the park.

It's good to be back.

I finally convinced my parents that I'm going back here at L.A.

But something went wrong.

To: Mom Topp

Mom, don't worry, I'll try to contact
Damien,maybe he can help me.

I texted mom and she immediately reply

Mom Topp

Tell me when if you don't have anywhere else to go,
Maybe I can ask my friend there to let you stay for the night.

I will Mom.

Well apparently the apartment I should rent for living here isn't available. They said that they didn't know that it's already reserved for someone else.
And now I don't know where to go.
