chapter 6

Courtney POV

Well, Shayne is staying with us.

"Daddy can I sleep beside you tonight?"

"If you're a good boy, then why not?"

"I am a good boy, right mom?"

"Y-yeah." I stand up. "I'll leave you two here, I'll be in my room."

"Courtney are you o---"

"Yup, I just feel like needing a rest. If something happens, wake me up."

"O-kay, I will."

"Great. Zayne behave--"

"Mom, can dad and I go out. I wanted to buy something." I look at him for a while.

"Zayne, just tell m---"

"Sure, be back before dark." I went to Zayne and kiss his head before I look to Shayne. "Take care of him, don't let him wander around." I walk toward my purse. " Here's m--"

"It's on me. Don't worry."

I didn't argue. I grab the key to the house and gave it to him.

"Okay. Be safe."

I waited them to leave before I finally went to my room and just plopped my back on the bed.

What the hell just happened.

I adjust my self on more comfortable position and start recalling what happen.

--earlier that day--

I received a text from Wahlid saying
: I won't sign your resignation letter, but if you come on the business trip at New York with me for three days your contract will end, by Saturday, you are not working with me. We will leave on Tuesday, also you can take a day off tomorrow.

I never went with him on business trip.
I don't know why he is so persistent for me to come with him.
But if I come,
My work with him will be over.
It's not I don't want to work with him.
Zayne told me how he doesn't want him,
And he wasn't comfortable with him,
Specially when the time Wahlid joke about him being his father.
I think that's when he started not to like him.

I met Mrs. Haas two months ago, and she said she and her friend Olivia are looking for a designer to their clothing business.
She ask me if I am interested,
They'll hire me right away.
And the working time there is much better,
I can pick up Zayne in his school on time.

I heard a knock on the door. I went to it.

"Oh, you really came early. He still asleep." I said when I opened the door and I saw Shayne standing outside.

"Yeah. Goodmorning."

"Mom, who's y---- daddy! You're here!" And Zayne run towards Shayne and hug him.

"Goodmorning buddy."

"Goodmorning daddy!"

"Come in."

When we're all inside.

"Dad, where you sleep last night?"

"On my friend's house."

"You don't have a house?"

"Well, kinda..."

"You can stay here dad!"
