Sudden Change

Chapter 15

Shayne POV

After an hour when we opened the restaurant, I didn't notice I was spacing out.

"Dude, what are slacking off there? We just open our restaurant, don't be like that."

"Courtney didn't come."

I grunt because I heard him laughing.

"She have reason."

"But!"

"Don't act like a child now,  what we need to do right now is to run our business. Let's go outside and try to attract some people out there."

"Maybe she forgot." I whispered to myself.

Courtney and I haven't had a chance to talk to eachother about this because I didn't woke up early to remind her about visiting here, or ask her if she'll go here.

When she woke me up, I saw her and Zayne already dressed up, ready to go.

"You said last night that you'll leave at 8, so I didn't woke you because I know that you're still tired and needed some rest... because you need it. There's food on the table, I also picked what you'll be wearing today if you haven't prepared one." She pointed the clothes that laying on the bed. She looked at the time."Me and Zayne will be going now. Have a nice day."

That's what she said before they left.

She also told me that she will pick up Zayne from school.

"Shayne, if she said she will come, she will."

Then I remembered.

"That's the point Damien, I didn't know if she agreed when I asked her."

"Oh buddy, that's bad." He tapped my back. "But, if you have faith, everything is possible. I know she remembers, she's the one who prepared your clothes, she knows."

I saw people coming.

"Thanks Damien, you're right, let's go back to work."

We greets the costumers and guide them to their table.

"You go take a break, you've done a lot for today." Damien told me, I nod and go to the table where my eyes landed first.

Hours passed so quickly, everything is going really great for our first day. 

I kept looking at my phone time to time, thinking maybe I should text Courtney to remind her for coming here but choose not to.

Well, she's busy.

Earlier when my phone vibrate, I immediately check it but got disappointed when I didn't saw Courtney's name.

Mom texted me that she and dad that they're on their way here and they are excited to see me again any moment.

They called me last night and told me that they wanted to be here because they miss me and also to see the restaurant. I said that they don't have to because it seems like they are throwing away the money but they insist, because they really want to meet Zayne.

I talked to Courtney about them wanting to meet Zayne after they call me.

Zayne is already sleeping when I enter the room,
I stopped for a seconds when I saw Courtney tying her hair, and she's wearing her eyeglasses, laptop on her lap.

I went to her.

"Courtney."

She looked up to me.
I took a deep breath
