Chapter 53

I curled up on the sofa beside Hermione, Crookshanks and Dorian played on the floor, the green of my robes clashed with the colours of the Gryffindor common room. Hermione threads her hand through my hair as she stared at Harry who sat on the floor in front of us, I flipped the page of my book. "Okay, Harry tell me again!" Hermione demanded as she gawked at him intensely. "Come seek us where our voices sound." Harry replied quickly, "the black lake, obviously" I look up from my book as I speak and the two nodded in agreement. "An hour-long you'll have to look" Harry continued, "again obvious, but profoundly problematic" Hermione spoke and Harry looked up at her rather angrily, "When was the last time you held your breath under the water for an hour Hermione?" he seethed at the girl who recoiled in the change of Harry's voice, I hat up closing my book and leaned my arm out resting it on Harry's cheek "Look Harry, we can do this. The three of us can figure it out." I patted his cheek before removing my hand.  

Mad-Eye Moody appears in the doorway "Hate to break up this scholar session but Professor McGonagall would like to see you in her office." He explained and Harry stood, "no not you, Miss Granger and Miss Windsor" he continued and Harry sat back down. "But sir, the second task is only hours-" Hermione began before she was rudely interrupted "Exactly. Presumably, Potter is well prepared by now and could do with a good night's sleep. Go. Now! Longbottom!" Neville appeared from behind one of the bookcases, "Why don't you help Potter put his books back." Moody suggested as I and Hermione stood and walked towards him exiting the room and beginning towards McGonagall's office.

"enter!" she calls as Hermione knocks on the door and we do as told walking towards the women, "I'm very sorry to have to do this to you two girls" she smiles sadly and pulls out her wand, and that was indeed the last thing I remember.

Draco paces quickly through the Slytherin common room glancing up at the stairs of the girl's dorms, a mop of blonde appearing in his vision "Aurelia!" he calls rushing towards the quiet girl, "where is she? where is (Name)!" Draco practically shouted at the small girl who shrugged "no clue, last time I saw her she was with the golden trio" Aurelia's voice was quiet under the fear of Dracos tense stare. "Yes of course! thank you!" Draco spun on his heel and quickly exited the Slytherin dormitories and towards the great hall, "Weseal- Bee, Pottah!" He calls as he sees the two boys walking through the corridor, "where is (Name)!" he grabbed Harry by his robes and pushed him against the wall "I don't know! her and Hermione disappeared last night! were looking for them now" Harry raised his hands in surrender and Draco lets go adjusting his tie and walking off. 

Draco sat in the stands with Crabble, Goyle and Pansy glancing around the seats with no sign of (Name), "she'll be fine, that little bitch always is" Pansy half assured half insulted Draco and he shot her a glare causing her to quiet down rather quickly. "Welcome to the second task. Last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake. In order to win each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that they'll be on their own." Dumbledore's voiced echoed on a loudspeaker and Dracos eyes widened "(name)" he breathed out and his eyes shot to Harry, it was the only possibility, he let out a shaky breath as his eyes moved to the lake. The cannon fires and the champions enter the water, three of them dive in while Harry is pushed. Underwater the effects of gilliweed take hold, Harry's hands and feet become webbed. After a few minutes, Dumbledores voice was heard over the speaker again "The Beauxbatons champion Miss Delacour has unfortunately been forced to retire. She will take no further part in this task." Fleur emerged from the water in hysterics and the crowd looked at her, wondering what had happened.

Harry is still searching around. He hears muffled screams. He finds (Name), Hermione, Cho Chan and a blonde girl from Beauxbatons tied in place by their ankles. Cedric is there, he takes Cho with him. Harry sets about freeing (Name) and Hermione but vicious merpeople appear. "she's my friend too!" he cries out pointing at Hermione "only one!" a merperson glares at him, What looks like a shark approaches at high speed. and the Merpeople fleer. The shark grabs Hermione and heads for the surface. Harry continues to try and free (Name) he glances around and still sees Fleurs younger sister moving over to her. He loosens her rope and starts heading for the surface with both of them. He's attacked and gets held down, he pushes Fleurs sister towards the surface but (Name) begins to float downwards. He fights his way towards the (h/c) girl and grabs her tightly and began swimming quickly towards the surface. 

(Name) gasped for air as they reached the top and cheers are heard Harry glances at the girl, "I was so worried!" he cried out and helped her towards the surface, the both of them were sopping wet. Draco, Hermione and Ron ran towards them, towels and blankets held in their hands. Draco draped a towel and a blanket around the girl and dropped to his knees in front of her. "are you okay?!" he breathed out inspecting the girl for injuries and she smiled at him nodding quickly, The blonde embraced her quickly, Ron was next he squeezed her extremely tight and then Hermione who wouldn't let her go.

She approached Harry "Thank you Harry!" she smiled hugging the boy and he snaked his hand into her sopping wet (h/c) hair. They let each other go and Harry began to move closer to her and moved some hair behind her ear his hand lingering on her cheeky, and in the heat of the moment pressed his lips against her own soft plump ones.
