R.J. Lupin

As the Hogwarts express blares its horn, we weave through the milling horde of students. Parents hurry their children onboard, tiny siblings wave goodbye and Mrs.Weasley dashes through the throng and up to an open train window "Ron!" she shouts and passes scabbers through the window to him "thanks mum!" he beamed Happily. The aisle is full to the brim with students. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I work our way down the aisle, looking for an empty compartment. Harry was telling us how he blew his aunt up like a balloon "I didn't mean to blow her up. I just ... lost control." Harry sighed and me and Ron looked at each other and then to him "Brilliant!" we laughed and Hermione turned to glare at us " it's not funny. Harry's lucky he wasn't expelled you should know better (Name)" she scolded as she was our mother I giggled "its still funny mione'" and a smile made its way onto her face "maybe it is just a little" she caved and laughed lightly.

A copy of The Monster Book of monsters scurries crab-like down the aisle, pursued by Neville "Hi Harry. Hermione, (Name), Ron!" he beams "Hi Neville" we all reply and he continues in hot pursuit of the book. We stopped outside of a compartment and slip inside, there laid a man in shabby robes, he was slumped against the window asleep, he has a blazer atop his head. We eye him wearily before I sat down beside him. "he's asleep what harm can he do?" I commented and the tri just stared at me like I was psychotic they still stood. "who do you reckon it is?" Ron whispered "Professor R.J. Lupin. " Hermione replied "You know everything. How is it she knows everything?" his eyes were wide, "it says it on his case" I laughed pointing at the man's bags. They were battered but they held the words R.J. Lupin, the letters slightly faded. "Is he really asleep?" Harry asked and I turned to peer at the man who was beside me listening carefully, his breaths were shallow and quiet "he seems to be. why? whats wrong harry?" I looked up at the boy who sat down beside me. "Close the door. " he demands and Ron does as told sitting across from us. I look out the window there were Storm clouds, like dark ghosts, and it rains heavily beating onto the window. I played with the hem of my jumper peeing at Harry as did the other two.

Harry begins to speak about Sirius black and how he was after him, Harry sounded out of his mind, most likely afraid for his life. "Let me get this straight. Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban to come after you?" Ron questioned and Harry nods "But they'll catch Black, won't they? I mean... eventually" Hermione looked scared and I couldn't blame her. "Sure -- Of course, no one's ever broken out of Azkaban before and he's a raving, murderous lunatic..." I tried to lighten the mood but my comment seemed to scare Harry and Hermione more. Just then the compartments begin to rattle and lanterns flicker. The train lurches and begins to stop, "why are we stopping! we can't be there by now!" Hermione cried out. Harry and I stand and peer out the compartment door and look down the corridor, curious heads poke out of the carriages the whole way down. The train jerks again and the lights flicker even more violently than last time. We sat back down and the lights go out "what's going on?" whisps of steam exits Ron's mouth, the compartment was absolutely freezing "Maybe we've broken down?" I suggested and Harry nods in agreement, "ow Ron! that was my foot!" Hermione exclaimed and Ron let out a quick apology.  Ron wipes the window "Something is moving out there. I think... people are coming aboard." he stares out the window, the train swings violently "Bloody hell. What's happening?" My voice was barely a whisper. A soft crackling fills the car and flames bloom... in the hands of R.J. Lupin, who wad finally awake. In the light, his face looks tired and grey, but his eyes are alert. Wary. "Don't. Move" he commands and we all go completely still. A hand -- slimy and scabbed -- a hand of death -- grabs the half-open compartment door, pushes it aside: a towering, cloaked figure drifts into the compartment door, its face was hidden beneath its black hood. Dorian's hair rises and as she hisses, a cold wind blows The folds of the hood wave slightly. A loud rattling inhales of air is heard. The flame in Lupin'shands begins to splutter. I felt dreadful, as if I could never be happy again, it was so cold and dark. I look over at Harry and his eyes roll to the back of his head and he falls onto my lap his glasses hitting the floor roughly a silvery-white light begins to drift from his lips. Thunder and Lightening cracks across the sky as the dark figure moved closer and closer towards Harry whos head laid on my lap, he was passed out. Professor Lupin jumps up "Expectro Patronum!" a blinding silver light appears from his wand and suddenly the shadowy figure was gone.

With a desperate gasp, Harry is awake, at this stage the train was moving again and water drops from the windows freshly unfrozen. "Are you alright?" My face inched closer to his, his head still resting on my thighs, Ron nervously hands harry his glasses. Harry slips them on and sits up, Professor Lupin had broken off a line from a slab of chocolate and he held it out to Harry "Chocolate. Eat. It'll help." Harry cautiously takes it "what was that thing?" he questioned "A Dementor. One of the guards of Azkaban. It's gone now." Lupin explained and Harry still looks confused "It was searching the train, Harry. For Sirius Black." I finished and Harry nodded slowly staring at the chocolate. Lupin stands up quickly "I need to have a word with the driver. Excuse me." he points at the chocolate and then to harry "eat it will help." and with that, he exited the compartment. "What happened to me?" Harry asks "Well, you sort of went... rigid. We thought maybe you were having a fit or something." Ron's voice was gentle as he told Harry what had happened "and did any of you three... you know faint?" he asks and we all shake our heads "No. I felt... weird. Like I'd never be cheerful again. But...no." Ron speaks and Harry looks at me "and you?" "I was trembling. Cold. and sad." I added and he looked at Hermione "so where did it go?" she looked at the empty seat where Lupin had just sat "Professor Lupin made it go away..." she finished, "But someone was screaming. A woman." He insisted and we all look at each other.

"no one was screaming Harry"
