Royals (Draco Malfoy x Reader)

Chapter 62

Dinner was over and Draco and I had the responsibility of helping the first years, much to my dismay, I just wanted to go to bed. I don't know what I had expected for my birthday, but this was certainly not it. Two people had genuinely remembered one of which I had only met. "First years! this way please!" I called and the new Slytherins stood up shyly and began walking towards Draco and me. They were all so small and I was sure, that I didn't appear this tiny in my first year. I walked at the front of the group while Draco walked at the back ensuring none of them wandered off.

I lead them through the winding hallways and down some stairs towards the common rooms, "Now the password is, Asutus, please do not share this with anyone outside of your house" I explained and the walls opened. The first years glanced around the common room excitedly, It was rather beautiful. Draco stepped forward explaining the dormitories to them and thy all flooded to find a room. I sighed and flopped down on the couch, Draco followed taking a seat beside me. "you don't look too happy" he begins studying me and I let out a dry chuckle, "what's there to be happy about if you'll excuse me" I stand up and begin walking towards my dormitory being cut off by the doors opening "(Name), that filthy mudblood friend of yours is outside" I spun at Theodore's word and sure enough Hermione stood outside the door I shot him a glare, "a rather poor choice of words you wouldn't want detention now Nott would you?" I hissed moving back towards the open wall walking through, closing behind me as I did.

"(Name)! Harry and Ron are in trouble, please come quick!" before I could even get a word out Hermione had wrapped her hand around my wrist and began running through the halls quickly. The sound of our shoes tapping against the stone floors echoed through the walls. We came to a stop, I was gasping for air and Hermione spoke the password to the fact lady, she pulled me inside and up the stairs towards the boy's dorms. 

She slammed the door open and I walked tiredly behind her, the lights were shut off, "Hermione are you sure there here?" I questioned and she nodded quickly flicking on the lights. There was a roar "surprise!" I looked around the room and there indeed stood Harry and Ron, alongside Ginny, the twins and Aurelia. I laughed shaking my head at their silly antics.  "were sorry we forgot" Ginny smiled lightly a rather horrible looking cake sat on a plate on her hands. "Ginny and I made this while you were doing your perfect duties" Harry stated rather proudly as Fred shot a spell at the candles. Ron began belting out the tune 'Happy Birthday' the twins following suit slowly but surely the rest started singing. They were all terrible singers in all honesty. I blew out the candles and they all cheered happily. I had received a hug from all of them, Harry and Hermione's lingered just a bit longer than the rest. The twins had gotten me some devil snaps, they had to explain to me that when they hit the floor they made a loud bang and smoke would creep up out of them. I thanked them rather intrigued by the snaps. Hermione had given me her copy of 'the hunchback of nortadame' Aurelia had given me two new quills, Ginny gave me a book of astrology and Harry had given me even more sweets.

They all continued apologizing profusely for forgetting and I waved them off insisting that birthdays had never meant much to me. The pain in my arm had stopped for a while, but as the night grew later and we were all full of butterbeer and sweets it began hurting again. Hermione eyed me before standing up from Rons bed "can we talk?" she questioned offering me a hand and I stood quickly, she motioned to the bathroom and we walked in, before she closed the door I muttered a quick spell to ensure no one heard our conversation.

"What happened over the summer" Hermione sat on the toilet and I sat on the edge of the bath, "lots of things Mione" I tried to avoid telling her. She shot me a stern glare, "you can't lie to me" she hissed and I sighed. I glanced around the room and my gaze fell upon my arm "Ill show you, only if you swear not to tell anyone if you swear not to be upset with me" my voice cracked and tears welled in my eyes. I was about to ruin my friendship. She stuck out her pinky and I linked it with my own. I took a shaky breath and pulled up my sleeve. Hermione stared in pure shock, her shock turned to anger and then to pity, "did you want this?" she questioned moving to sit beside me and I shook my head and I let the tears fall, sobbing quietly. Hermione moved to pull my head into her chest and tried to soothe me as I cried. "I don't want to hurt anyone Mione If anything I could be a double agent" I joked and she let out a small laugh. "how did it happen?" she questioned and so I began explaining the entirety of the story to her. 

"he used the cruciatus curse on you!" she growled and I nodded looking down I was rather ashamed of myself. "This is Harry's proof he's back!" she shot up and began towards the door "Hermione! No! Please!" I begged and she turned and looked at me, "we have to tell him" she insisted and I sighed "I will eventually, I just need time" I pleaded with her and she nodded. "Go to Dumbledore" she suggested and I smiled "I will, soon I guess, I just don't know if its a good idea" I explained and she let out a sly grin, "maybe you could be a double agent"
