Chapter 70

My heart thudded as I stood beside Lucius squeezing my eyes shut as Bellatrix shoved a mask into my arms. I pulled the hood of my cloak over my head and placed the mask onto my face. My breaths uneven, I was warned, if I fucked up, it was the cellar for me, no more Hogwarts, no more freedom. I was choking on my own breaths as Lucius grasped my arm tightly "relax!" he hissed at me and I tried to control my breathing "department of mysteries!" he bellowed and the world began to spin, my stomach churning as we landed. The group of us walked through the long hallways and enter a room, the hall of prophecies. "hide" Lucius demands and I spin my heels clicking as I run deeper and deeper into the room. It was odd shelves decorating the entire place filled with boxes and small glowing orbs. 

The ministry had been closed for about 30 minutes, no wonder it was so easy to get in. I could hear a group of people enter the room. "he's in here somewhere!" it was harry I squeezed my eyes shut, I didn't want to hurt any of them, but I would have to eventually.

"I warned you before that one day you one come to a sticky end, Potter" I heard Lucius bellow that was my cue, I sped out from the spot I had concealed myself, they were surrounded, Ron, Harry, Ginny, Neville, Hermione and Luna. I fixed my gaze on anything but them, they were surrounded in every direction. "Where is Sirius!" Harry shouts spinning around, "you should really learn to tell dreams from reality!" Lucius laughed waving his hand over his face his mask turning into nothing, revealing himself to my peers. "Give us the Prophecy! or we will have to attack" Lucius demanded and Harry stepped back "go ahead!" he spat angrily.

The group raised their wands and I sighed "Harry... please" my voice weak and he spun to face me a look of disgust on his features, Lucius holds a hand up to silence me "you expect to defeat us with your school friends? had it over, Potter!" Lucius patience was wearing thin. a death eater steps forward throwing back his hood "I didn't escape Azkaban for this!" he cries raising his wand ready to attack I spin quickly towards him "No! if the prophecy is broken--" I begin and he cuts me off turning towards the gang of death eaters "take the youngest! well see then how determined potter is after I torture her!" he laughs manically and Harry and the rest form a circle around Ginny protecting her. "you come closer and ill smash this thing!" he shouts and Bellatrix begins to laugh stepping forward "he knows how to play! itty bitty baby potter!" her voice was laced with faux sympathy before cackling loudly "Bellatrix Lestrange!" Neville whispers and Bellatrix begins to laugh "Neville Longbottom is it? hows mum and dad?" she laughs and he steps forward "better now that they're about to be avenged!" he splutters at her and her laughter grows louder.

"Why does Voldemort want it?" Harry questions and Bellatrix looks horrified "you dare speak his name! you filthy half-blood!" she raises her wand ready to attack "he's just curious Bellatrix can you blame him" I step forward pulling her arm down quickly trying to defuse the situation. "control yourself!" I finish and she begins to lower her wand slowly. "what's so special about this anyway?" Harry questions and Bella shrieks with laughter "you mean Dumbledore never told you? the reason you have that scar is in your hands!" Lucius was trying to fien kindness trying not to begin a battle. "What?" Harry looks extremely surprised and all of the death eaters begin to laugh. "so that's what took you so long... we wondered" Lucius continued "but why did I need to take it?" Harry asked his voice shaking, they were planning something I knew it. "only the person the prophecy is made for can take it" Lucius explains and Harry looks furious, "so he used to to do his dirty work!" Harry hissed and Lucius nodded. "Move!" I shout as Harry shouts 'now!' I and the death eaters move quickly trying to avoid the debris. 

"Run!!" Harry demands and they all begin running quickly as shelves fall behind them, Lucius grabs Harry tightly ready to apparate with him, I draw my wand, I know I will be in severe trouble for this "Stupefy!" I roar and Lucius flys back "Run!" I shout to Harry and Hermione grabs his arm and begins to run away with him. I wave my wand by my mask making it disappear and I'll my hood down, there was longer no need to hide my identity. 

I stumble behind them all watching as they all separate, absolute imbeciles they were easier to hunt like this. Spells shoot after the group and I try to deflect as many of them as I can without them realizing ts me. I follow after Bellatrix as we weave through clocks and desks. "Maybe they went to the hall?" someone suggests and Bellatrix spins on her heel "check the desks!" she demands. Harry pops up and stupefies a death eater, Hermione turns to run and Bellatrix notices her "Avada---" I spin pointing my wand at her "expelliarmus!" her wand goes flying and Neville jumps out from under a desk "stupefy!" Bellatrix flies back I let out a sigh of relief, I can't keep saving them. I look at them and move my head for them to run and so they do shooting me a thankful smile and I wince watching Bellatrix raise to her feet.  "you're in some serious trouble!" she hisses and I knew, I would never be able to enjoy anything ever again. 

The sound of spells clashing was deafening me as we ran. "There!" Bellatrix sung happily pointing at them, Hermione, Ginny and Ron were out, unable to fight, this wasn't fair in the slightest but I couldn't help them anymore, I had risked enough as it is. Stunning spells are shot at them, the group narrowing dodging them, I felt terrible being unable to help, Ginny collapses with Luna by her side, "Gp ahead!" I yell at Bellatrix and the rest and they comply running afterHarry and the rest. I move quickly towards the two girls "Luna! sit her up!" I demand and Luna recoils due to the tone of my voice she fumbles lightly before propping a wheezing ginny up. "Ginny! Ginny! Can you hear me?" I shake her lightly and she nods weakly "point to where hurts" I demand and she moved her hand to her ankle and her stomach. "Luna lifts her top!" I rush pulling out my wand, Ginny had a large gash on her stomach. I closed my eyes and focused "Mea virtute et Scientia curationum, per sanguinem et lacrimis ego praecipiens elementum Mundi sanare" my voice was calm as my wand began to glow a soft white and the gash began to close, Ginny's breaths no longer weak "my ankle it is broken" she stutters and I nod moving my focus "Episkey" the bone snapped back into place and I smiled lightly.

"Stay here don't move, I'm going to put a shield around you" I push myself from the ground and away from the two girls and Luna smiled up at me "you're a lot lovelier than you give yourself credit for" she beamed and I laughed "thank you, Luna, Protego totalum" a blinding blue light shot from my wand surrounding the area of the girls. "Be safe!" Ginny called and I laughed "not possible" running off.

I follow as Harry and Ron stumble into the room of the veil and I shudder. Bellatrix and a few others follow after, Neville, Hermione and Ron in their arms, I let out a quiet sigh of relief, thank the heavens that they didn't get Luna and Ginny. "It's over Harry! just give it to him" I yell out and Harry adverts his gaze to Lucius "let my friends go!" he demands "you're not in a position to negotiate!" I remind and Lucius snickers watching Neville struggle against the death eater who had him under control "don't do it Harry!" he shouts "stop Neville!" I demand, "Potter! give me the prophecy or I'll see how long it takes Neville to crack just like his parents!" Bellatrix smiles gleefully, she was a psychopath if I had ever seen one.

"Don't!" Neville shouts again "Crucio!" Bellatrix's spell makes contact with him and he howls in pain curling into a small ball, flashes of white light appear around us, "get away from my godson!" Sirius appears in front of Harry and punches Lucius in the mouth, all hell breaks loose spells fly around and it was completely chaotic, no one knew where half of the spells were coming from, The prophecy drops to the floor and shatters and Lucius seems as if his life just flashed before his eyes, he was terrified, and he had a very good reason for it. 

Bellatrix leaps in front of Sirius a wide smile on her face "Hello, cousin!" Sirius cheers and Bellatrix laughs, I was trying to focus on the task of avoiding the spells the purple-haired women was throwing at me. Sirius fires a spell at Bellatrix she dodges leaping down to the dias, where the veil sits, Their wands clash as they fight in an intense battle, Neville and Harry begin to scramble away. "is that the est you got?" Sirius teases and as he gets the words out of his mouth when a spell hits him right in the chest, he is thrown into the air, shock written on his features.

Time seems to slow as Sirius falls behind the veil, Harry lets out a heartbreaking shriek, Lupin restains him and I take that as my queue to leave, I spin and begin to run towards the floor network, Bellatrix on my tail, Harry on hers. I reach the network before they can even notice I'm gone "Windsor Manor!" and I disappear into a cloud of green smoke.
