The warriors were the same ones who had attacked the Carolinda Museum. They wore the same armor.
The floor was made of opaque and gray tiles. Rows of torches lit them.
From behind the high walls, they could see thick windows and a clear blue sky.
A man sat on a gold-plated throne and held a long staff on one of his hands.
Two other men were kneeling before him. One of them was large with light brown hair cut in a short, military style. The other one wore his black hair combed back, stuck to his head by something oily. Both had blue eyes.
"We must not fail, understood?" said the wizard in a deep, hoarse voice. A pipe made from a dark wood was hanging from his lips.
He slowly turned the staff towards the men's head, "Regarding the heir, his pathetic companions... I'd kill them myself, but it would be a waste of my time."
"What if Rorgana fails again?" asked the man with the back hair.
"I will not kill her, of course. She has been very useful these past years. But that doesn't mean I'll go easy on her," he replied, letting out some smoke that covered the men's faces. "Even if she does fail her mission, you will provide backup in case they interfere with my plan."
The larger man cleared his throat.
"Regarding the museum raid—we've lost a few men. However, we destroyed as much as we could, and we stole many precious things belonging to the Pelvins," he said proudly.
"Excellent," replied the wizard. "Do not fail me. Otherwise, I'll kill you and replace you. I have no shortage of henchmen."
"Certainly," they both answered, at the exact same time and rhythm.
"Do not let me down!"
