"Is this where we're staying?" asked Johnny, disappointed.

"No, we aren't going to stay here," said the sorcerer, aiming his staff towards a large mirror.

The mirror immediately began to shake and then opened down the middle, revealing a secret passage with a staircase leading to a basement.

A secret passage! Garley thought, and he smiled.

As they made their way down, Garley watched as the mirror closed behind them. They walked into a large, well-ventilated room, currently empty. There was nothing besides a glossy black floor made of thick glass. Zallezeres touched the ground with the tip of his staff. Instantly, thousands of pixels appeared on the floor, forming into three-dimensional, digital pixels under their feet. It was a place of high technology.

"Wow! This place is amazing!" said Jorge, looking down.

"This is where magic meets technology," said Zallezeres proudly. With his staff, he touched one of the circles floating under his feet,

and a crack opened in the floor. From inside emerged a cozy sofa.

"I created this room few years ago. The technology here only activates at my command. I encrypted it to respond to only my magical signature., unlocked only by my staff," he explained.

Zallezeres waved his staff. In the enclosure, LED lamps illuminated the room in a strong blue light.

"Well, what's the plan?" asked Aldrich, a little surprised by the place he was in even after everything he had ever seen.

"We shall get into the palace through an old secret passage, one which probably has been deactivated, but leave that part up to me," he replied, seeming a little nervous.

Zallezeres walked to the end of the room and touched the base of the staff to the wall. A rift opened, revealing another hiding space.

Inside, there were four staffs illuminated in LED red lights. He took a newer staff from there, smaller and less intimidating.

"Are you going to switch staffs?" asked Alix, raising her eyebrow. "Yes, my old one is very eye-catching. This one attracts less

attention. However, don't worry."

With the old staff in one hand, he pointed it to the center of the room. A holographic image of the palace formed in front of them. He walked over to the image and touched it with his hand. It immediately zoomed in on one of the guards, in real time.

"All right. It will not be easy, but we will enter one way or another," he said, with a smile on his swollen face.

After they had all taken showers in a tiny bathroom outside of the high-tech room and dressed in fresh clothes, they left the abandoned store.
