Part 13

He stopped his car outside my mansion at the wrong time, my mother just got dropped by a taxi at the same time and I knew something terrible was going to happen.

I opened the door and jumped down as I saw mom walking towards me, I hoped Arnav was going to drive away but that idiot rolled the window down to talk to me.

"Weren't you taught how to say thanks when someone helps you?" He asked, I swear I was going to kill him.

"Khushi, where is your car and who's this guy?" Mom asked stopping beside me as she looked at Arnav with a huge smile, yup she definitely liked him, only if she knew there was nothing about him to really like.

"It broke down so he dropped me, he studies in my college, now let's go inside." I got hold of her hand and tried to drag her away but only if it was possible.

"You should invite him inside, he helped you, you can thank him with a cup of coffee." My mom suggested, I wanted to scream a big no, I hoped Arnav was going to refuse because he hated me.

"You should come inside." My mom said to which he nodded positively, bloody double faced, if he hated me why was he even coming inside my house?

"And why were you coming with a taxi at this time? As far as I remember you had a car." I asked.

"Yeah, mine broke down too, looks like we both had a bad day, only that I got a taxi ride back home and you got a ride from a guy which never happens." She smiled excitedly.

"Hold your horses mom, he isn't even my friend, he just dropped me home and that's it." I whispered back to her as Arnav walked behind us.

"It's still a big deal to see you with a guy, friend or not." She smiled excitedly, we walked into the hall as my mom settled down with Arnav talking to him and sent me to the kitchen to make coffee, imagine me making coffee for bloody Arnav, yeah I hadn't ever thought about that even in my worst nightmare.

I sat on the sofa beside Arnav and looked at mom angrily, I really wanted to shout or scream or something, why did she have to invite this guy inside?

"I won't be able to sleep if I drink this right now, so I guess I'll head to bed, it was nice meeting you Arnav." Mom smiled at him as she walked away leaving us alone.

I sipped on my coffee trying not to look at Arnav at all, it was just awkward and weird, we both sat their silently but he wouldn't just stop staring at me, I mean what was with him and staring at me like this today? I was glad he wasn't talking though because I knew if he spoke he would say something mean and I would throw him out of the house.

Once he was done with his coffee, his handed me his cup and as I was taking it from him, our hands touched slightly, I literally felt like something jumped inside my chest, it wasn't that I was touching him for the first time, we had a fight twice so we had touched each other, but this was different.

I walked back from the kitchen after returning the cups inside, I found him still seated on the sofa, he was looking around at the things placed in the hall.
