Hi. I'm alive. Kinda. Um so first off, deaf Peter cause I wanted bite me, second off sorry for saying bite me I'm stressed as fuck, third off, mention of Skip so skip if he triggers you (we all know he is a trigger in himself the sad excuse for a hooman), and yeah. 1657 words. Also, women. Cause women. Wow. You are all pretty as fuck. Keep being you. I'm too unstraight for life my god.

Peter had never told the Avengers about his encounters with Toomes. Especially Mr. Stark, because he did NOT want to go through that lecture. And yet, Peter wanted to tell someone. It was painful keeping it to himself, the scars on his torso from the building falling and the claw shaped scars on his chest from the plane incident. It was also hard to keep pushing off his flinches when the Avengers would talk about carrying heavy things, plane trips, not to mention that Peter could barely look at Sam's wings, let alone be in a room while he was flying.
That was why he was nervous to go to the tower today. Mr. Stark had decided that they had all been working too hard (even though they hadn't gone on a mission in a little under a month) and that they would have a pool day because, "I'm a fucking billionaire and what I say goes so pool day it is!" and Peter didn't have a water-shirt.
With a small sigh, Peter grabbed his backpack and, after double checking that he had extra clothes in case he had to stay the night, walked out of his room. He nodded at May who was in the kitchen making an early lunch.
"Hey Peter," she signed. "Are you ready for a pool day?
Peter nodded, internally screaming, before telling May that he loved her and leaving the apartment. He walked down the roads of Queens, his head spinning and his eyes skimming over everything.
Peter had always been amazed by Queens, even when he could hear all of the horns honking and the people yelling, because despite all the hatred, it was still a tight-knot community and everyone looked out for each other in one way or another. And in a way, Peter was grateful for his hearing loss, because now he can notice so many things that he would have totally overlooked before, like the way that one lady always takes two large steps forward with her right leg and a small step forward with her left, or how the vendors food smelled like a slice of heaven.
Before he even realized it, he was already at the tower. He looked up and the glinting metal and shook his head slightly. He nearly jumped 5 feet in the air when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He whipped his head around to see Steve standing there, a smile on his face.
"Hey, Pete. You ready to come in?" he said once he was sure Peter was calmed down enough to read his lips.
"Of course I'm ready!" Peter said softly. He had been nervous about talking for a while after his hearing left, but after much practice and many corrections from May on how to move his mouth to make it sound right, he was now comfortable talking at a low tone, and was getting more confident speaking louder too.
Steve laughed and led Peter in the building and to the pool room, where Steve, Bruce, Tony and Nat were waiting, sense they made up everyone who wanted to come. Well, almost everyone, as Thor and Loki were on Asgard for some family reasons and couldn't come like they wanted to. Peter didn't mind, because Natasha was there, and she always knew just what to do to calm the spider down and make him laugh.
Peter waved at them and chuckled when they all started talking at once. He waved his hand in a motion that told them to stop, and they all looked down sheepishly, mumbling what Peter was sure were apologies.
"You guys don't have to apologize," he said, drawing out the word apologize so that he would make sure to get all the syllables in, "just talk one at a time please," he finished, laughing softly. Tony nodded and waved his hand to get Peters attention.
