Hi I had no ideas so I just went off the list for this one. If you have any requests please comment them lol. Also idk the next time I will be able to post because I thought that we were busy at school before but turns out I was just an idiot who didn't observe me teachers good enough so yee.
Peter is a high schooler and spiderman so that should explain everything lol hahahaha *sobs in wtf is life* Also, Peter doesn't live with the Avengers but he sometimes just comes over.
Sorry for switching POVs so fast but i do so yea. Also it's short cause again I have homework and parents who don't really like this platform. I usually write when they are gone and they aren't gonna be gone long today so sorry.
Lol also it says he doesn't sleep for 3 days and you technically go insane around 2 days of no sleep but i just kind of factored in the healing factor so he could go longer w/o sleep and not have really severe affects until a certain time. Yeah.🖒
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Peter POV
Peter knocked on the window of the Tower, cold and tired out of his mind.
That is technically your fault, he thought. You insisted on going on patrol.
Peter shook his head and knocked again, sighing when he saw Tony coming down the hallway. His relaxation ended fairly quickly when he saw Tony's face morph from a wtf look to a OH MY GOD, PETER! look.
Tony POV
Tony turned the corner and saw Peter leaning heavily against the window in his suit and felt a jolt of panic fly through his stomach. Tony practically ran to the window, opening it so fast that Peter lost his balance and fell right onto Tony.
"Jesus, kid. What happened?"
"Mmh? Oh, nothing. I just, I think I got stabbed, but I'm not entirely sure. Also it was cold. Cold sucks, Mr. Stark. Sucks."
"I know, cold su-waiT DID YOU SAY YOU WERE STABBED?!?"
"Mmmmm, yes. I did. Maybe. Fuck, did I say I was stabbed?"
That's when Tony knew that Peter was falling back into his bad habits. Peter never swore, at least not in front of Tony, and he would always apologize when he swore. He didn't know which bad habits though, so he decided to ask about sleeping first sense that was the one Peter fell into more often.
"Kid, when was the last time you slept?" he asked as he helped Peter move so he was laying on his back and slid the suit down to Peters waist so Tony could scan for the wound.
"I actually don't know. Maybe I fell asleep a bit last night?"
"Mhm, I'm sure you did, kid. Fri, when did Peter last sleep?" he asked the AI as he found the wound. It was shallow and already clotting, only bleeding a bit in the middle where it was deepest. He listened to Friday's response as he went to the kitchen and grabbed a first aid kit and a rag.
"Peter has not slept for 3 days, and before that he slept a total of ten hours over a 4 day span."
Tony sighed and started to clean around the wound, listening to Peters' tired breathing.
"M'sorry, Mr. Stark."
"For what Peter? You didn't do anything wrong."
"For not sleeping and going on patrol when I knew that I wasn't at my best."
Tony finished wrapping the wound and looked Peter in the face.
"Peter, you did nothing wrong. Sometimes, people get stressed and fall back into bad habits. nothing wrong with that, as long as you eventually get out of the bad habits. You get me?"
Peter nodded and sighed. "Okay."
Tony nodded and got up, walking to Peters room and grabbing him a shirt and some joggers. When he got back to the living room, Peter had brought himself into an upright position, sitting on the floor and leaning against the couch. Tony threw the clothes at him, making them both laugh, before turning so Peter could change. When the suit was thrown at him, Tony turned and laughed at Peter who was now just back at laying on the floor. (Jane Seymour, the only one he ever looved! rude. sorry. I had to)
Tony walked over and helped Peter up into a sitting position and tried to get him to stand. When Peter started whining, Tony gave up and just picked him up, dropping him on the couch. Tony sat down and Peter curled into a ball, resting his head on a pillow and sliding under a pile of blankets. Tony put on a Disney movie and they both watched it for a bit before Tony turned to Peter again.
"Wanna tell me why you haven't been sleeping?"
Silence.
"Nightmares?" Tony asked. Peter nodded.
"Those and the homework that I could be doing instead of screaming my lungs out from the damned things."
Tony snorted. "Yeah, I get it. But kiddo, you need to sleep. You were sleeping so well without nightmares. Did something happen?"
Peter was quiet and Tony thought he wasn't going to answer when Peter said softly, "I don't know. Just school and the people at school and all the work and Spiderman on top of that and it's all just stressing me out. Usually, I can switch off the bad thoughts easily. Thinking about Ben dying? I could flip a switch and it's gone. Flash being an asshole? Flip! Gone. Skip? Flip, gone," he said, his voice quieting at the mention of Skip.
"But like, I don't know, all the stress makes it harder to flip it off and when I think of those things I can't escape them and then I dream about them and the dreams turn from Ben and I eating ice cream to Ben dying in my arms telling me it's all my fault, Flash being an asshole goes to Flash beating me to death behind the cafeteria, Skip showing me magazines to... to, um, that. I can't sleep when all that happens during my sleep. I can't."
Tony stared at Peter for a second. Peter, who was obviously holding back tears, had just spoken about his life more than he had ever done before, and Tony felt helpless. He didn't know who Flash or Skip was, what they had done to him. But he knew that he was going to say something, because there was no way in hell he was going to let his kid be in pain and stay awake till he died.
"Peter, sometimes, you can't make the bad go away. But I'm here, okay? And I'll be here when you wake up, whether it be screaming or stretching. And then you can tell me all about how you slept either crying over a gallon of ice cream or smiling while I make breakfast. Well, not me, duh, but I'll make Nat make breakfast."
Peter laughed a bit before nodding.
"Okay. So you are going to go to sleep, and I will stay by your side. And that way, you're not alone and if you need me, I'm already right there, 'kay?"
Peter nodded again and snuggled further into the blanket pile.
Tony sat watching the movie for a while before he noticed Peters' soft snores. He turned to look at the boy, sleeping for the first time in 3 days, and unfortunately looking less than peaceful. But he wasn't awake screaming, so Tony guessed it was a small mercy. Peter mumbled under his breath something that Tony couldn't make out before pulling the blankets further over his head, so that all Tony could see was the curly mop of Peters' hair. Tony laughed softly and grabbed himself some blankets, laying down on the couch parallel to the one Peter was sleeping on.
When Nat woke up the next morning and went out to the kitchen to make breakfast, she smiled when she saw Peter on one couch, his arm hanging off the couch and his foot on the arm, drooling slightly as he snored, and Tony, who was now awake and typing softly on his computer. Tony saw Nat and smiled, putting a finger to his lips in a shushing motion. Nat nodded, and they both turned to look at Peter.
At their family glue, the Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman, who was finally sleeping.
