Joshua lead us to his room. It's tidy and wide. It has a nice view of their garden.
"I'm sorry to take your time."
"Nah, it's actually us who's bothering you." I said.
"What do you want to talk about?" Hoshi asked.
"Please let me help you with Nico."
Taehyung saw this coming.
"I'm sorry. We don't need your help."
"Jeonghan?" Hoshi held my shoulder "I think he wants to find his father's killer. We're all after the same guy. It's a win win situation for us."
I didn't turn to Hoshi, though it's true. I just don't want to test what Taehyung can do if I defy him.
"You can let the detectives solve this." I said.
Here goes his annoying face again. He looked at us with a calm and gentle expression, but I still cannot read his reaction.
"Can I not insist?"
"Jeonghan, come on. If you were in his situation, don't you want to find him yourself?"
I looked at Joshua again. Let me see. Be sad, or angry, or bossy.
Annoying.
"We will find him for sure. We will let you know when we have surrendered him to the cops. All you have to is wait and go back to your life."
"Go back to my life. Yes. Sorry to bother you."
"No no no, you're never a bother. But if in case you need anything else, you can-"
"After the funeral, we'll never see each other. Don't get me wrong, we're grateful for your help but things will have to end for us here."
"Aaaah this is insane. Joshua, I'm sorry. I don't know what's happening with him. You can have my number."
"Thank you Hoshi. I'm giving you mine, too. Contact me whenever."
Things became awkward between me and Joshua for the rest of the week. We left the mansion like that, though I really feel bad for what happened to him.
"When we arrive, they might mistake us as big bosses in the Bureau!" Hoshi shouted while riding our new motorbikes.
"Right. Let's try parking in the reserved spots."
"Interesting idea, but I won't!"
I admit, our new motorbikes are cool as in cool. Joshua gave these in exchange for saving his life.
We noticed a BMW sedan drove out the parking and we saw the signage for motorcycle parking.
"Han-ah, do you think Joshua will find Nico on his own?"
"Why'd you thought out of the blue?"
"I saw a rich man's car."
"Oh yeah BMW. Think about it later."
We arrived to the Investigation Bureau to claim our reward money. We caught a small time carnapper with 50K bounty, which is enough to live for a while.
We entered the building and greeted with a little commotion. There's someone making a scene that the officers are trying to tame.
"Oh, hunters, right?" A man approached us and said "Remember me?"
"Oh yeah, the detective from Nico's case." Hoshi answered.
"Detective Lee." I remembered.
"What a small world!"
"What's happening?" I asked.
"A boy is asking for follow up on his case. He kinda became impatient so our men tries to calm him down. What brings you here?"
"Reward money. Should we go back later?"
"Oh no, I'll call someone. Kindly wait here."
"That's a relief. Thanks."
We waited as he calls someone and came back to us.
"Can I keep you company while you wait?"
"No problem." Hoshi said.
"Are you still friends with Hong Joshua?"
Hoshi looked at me as if waiting if he could tell him.
"We don't really talk anymore." I said.
"I see."
"What's going on?"
"I'm trying to cooperate with Joshua himself secretly."
"Secretly?"
"Yes, they gave me an order to report directly to the higher ups only. I am not allowed to release findings to the Hong's."
"So you want to ask Joshua?"
"Not ask, he's as clueless as me. But to cooperate."
We got interrupted by a man who gave us the reward money.
"Thanks for listening." Lee stood up.
"Detective, we're still going after Nico, right Han-ah?"
"Yeah. After all, it's a bragging rights for a hunter like us."
"Well, reward money will always be waiting for you."
Lee went back inside while we walked back to our bikes. We have to visit the Chinatown.
This money will go straight to Jun. He's not only our info broker but also our landlord.
When we arrived at the restaurant, our server friend greeted us.
"Oooh if it isn't the hunters!"
"Business as usual?" I asked.
"Booming in fact!"
"That's great. Where's Jun?"
"Inside, he has a customer though."
"We'll wait for him inside." Hoshi walked towards the back door.
We're always here in this humble restau, almost like an extension of our kitchen. Jun never gave us discounts but he add extra serving whenever we order.
"Junnie~ Oh-" Hoshi just stopped walking making me bump unto his back.
"Hey, can you please move?"
He stepped a little forward.
"Junnie~ Wha-what are you doing here?"
