"What do you mean?" I grabbed Taehyung's arm. I believe he is innocent and he doesn't need to kneel before anyone.
"That incident 5 years ago. I was in a battle with Nico. It was the night when they found our old mansion, the one in Incheon."
He sat up and continued
"We received an intel that Nico might have figured out where master is residing. That's why we looked for a new location and came up with a new plan, to register our new home as a warehouse.
Everything's almost ready. I was about to tell young master that we're moving out."
"You told me we're moving because it's closer to my university." I butted in.
"That was my very convenient excuse.
Going back, master was in the headquarters that night. I was in the mansion, doing the paper works for the registration.
A butler came into my office and reported that the security detected a threat. I immediately tasked everyone to look out for young master while I prepare to meet whoever's attempting to get in."
"They are not in the mansion, yet?" Hoshi asked.
"Yes, not yet."
"Max security, just rich people things."
"Uhm yeah, agree. When I went out to check it, I saw around 10 men and they almost broke the system installed around the fence.
I gathered some other butlers to get rid of them, and the maids to guard the main security room.
When I went out to help them, I saw Nico. I was only planning to drive them away, but I know master will finally be free if we kill Nico.
So I tried. He never landed a single blow on me. While I showered him with bullets. During that fight, my chest felt heavy. Imagining Nico's corpse swirls my stomach.
I never killed a person. And that's what master had always told me, never take someone's life."
"A mafia boss would say that?" Jeonghan asked.
"Master said we're just illegal entrepreneur, but not murderer. We can commit to business without killing."
I suddenly had a flashback of the event in Daegu. How dad let himself killed. I hate it all.
"One of Nico's men said they opened one gate" Taehyung continued "My legs suddenly froze, I was scared, I thought, what if they reached young master's room?
Nico then spoke to me 'I'll finally meet Seung Su's son, I'm excited to slit his throat.' and that triggered me, I immediately shot him in the face, in his right eye. He fell on the ground and didn't move an inch. I moved closer to check, and saw his face covered in blood.
I clenched my stomach, I was so nervous. What if I killed him? I killed someone. Then my mouth just said to the other men 'Your boss was shot.' and that's when they picked him up and drove away."
"So you're the one who shot him, and let him get away." Seokmin said, I'm trying to read if he's mad or not.
"Yes. I'm sorry. It took me a couple of minutes to gather my sense together. I then tasked my associates to follow and look for Nico."
Taehyung once again bowed at Seokmin.
"Please, forgive me."
"Come on, it's not even your fault."
"If I just killed him-"
"Taehyung." I called.
"Jisoo, I did my all to protect you. But if only I killed him, Seokmin's dad should still be alive, master SS should still be alive, and you are not in that wheelchair."
"You were young that time, and I'm glad that you listened to dad's words. I'm also thankful that you are still with us, doing your best to protect us."
