Night fell a lot quicker than they expected; they had managed to build a fire and eat more of the food they had left.
Theo stayed back and away from the others, sometimes catching Carl looking at her. When he did so, she played with the chain around her neck.
"Woman!" she heard Daryl yell at her from behind,
She turned to see Carol jumping down from the bus, smiling at her, and Daryl waving her over.
She got up, smiling as she walked past Carol, having a hand up from Daryl
"Sup?" she asked when she reached him.
He held out his hand, making her grab it, and helped her onto the top of the bus.
"Wanted your company." He stated as he sat down, Theo following
"What about Carol?" Theo asked as she looked back.
"I like her, but I like you a little more," he said as he ate some food.
"A little?" Theo teased
"Yeah, yeah, here" Daryl smiled, handing her the rest of his food. She gladly took it, knowing he wouldn't take no for an answer.
"Dad wants you and me to help him and some of the others push through to the prison so we can get shelter and possibly take this place as our own," Theo began explaining to Daryl.
"Yeah, alright," Daryl nodded, looking at the rest. "You spoke to the others a lot?" He asked
"Nope, even though they said they weren't going to look at me differently, the only people who don't are you, Glenn, Carol, mother and Maggie. The rest of our sad faces all the goddamn time" She sighed, looking up at the sky.
"I looked at you differently when you told me", Daryl admitted, making the girl look at him. "But not in a bad way, yeah at first I felt sorry for you; I would for anyone who would have to go through that, but once I realised it, I knew you were like you were because of what happened; you're strong, you're intelligent, you fight like a fucking bad-ass, it's also when I realised I liked you a lot more than I would wish to admit," Daryl told her.
"Really?" Theo asked in shock. Daryl hadn't talked about his feelings for her out loud other than saying he liked her, and she never really knew much behind it.
"Yeah, there hasn't been anyone else in my life like you. You're my type of gal, and I don't think I could leave you, not now, or anytime soon, or...you know...ever," Daryl admitted, looking at Theo, who was smiling at him.
"Don't give me that look, woman" He started noticing her looking at him in awe.
She didn't say anything; she quickly looked back at the campfire where everyone was. No one was looking their way, so she promptly kissed him, smiling at his blushed cheeks as she did so.
"I don't think I could do all this without you, and I don't want you to leave me" " she told him honestly.
"I won't leave you," He told her seriously.
"Good, or else I would have to beat your ass again" She smirked, looking up at him through her lashes.
"You never beat my ass..." Daryl shook his head
"No, I did, twice right..." she smiled, laughing at the memory in her head.
"Shut it", Daryl warned
"No, no, definitely twice..." Theo continued purposely winding him up. He covered her mouth with his hand, making Theo roll her eyes.
She teased, "You know this could be quite romantic," remembering what she said at the CDC.
"Hmm" Daryl smiled at her before his head fell, trying to hide his smirk
