Meanwhile, Theo was getting more rest, sleeping for about 10 hours straight, waking up and feeling like a new person.

She could breathe, and her head and chest still hurt, but everything else felt fresh and new; although she was very achy, she was so grateful to be alive.

She sat up and looked around, but she saw no one, so she walked out of the cell she had slept in to find someone.

The only person there was Sasha.

"Hey," she smiled, looking much better.

"How are you feeling?" Theo asked, returning the smile. She stretched slightly before the pain in her chest stopped her.

"I am about to go out and feel the sun on my skin. Would you like to join me? " she asked, smiling.

"Fuck yes", Theo laughed as she followed Sasha outside; just as they reached the door, a large explosion followed by the whole prison shaking erupted.

"What was that?" Theo panicked as she and Sasha began to speed up outside, running to see everyone else gathered,

They looked down to the far front to see the one person they never believed would still be alive.

"The Governor", Theo gritted between her teeth.

"And a fucking tank!" Daryl snapped, running behind her, looking at the army and a full-on army tank.

"Rick! Lovely to see you again!" The Governor yelled. "How about we have a little chat?" He asked

"I don't make the decisions anymore; there is a council", Rick yelled back at him.

"Is Herschel on that council?" he asked as one of his many men pulled Hershel out of one of their many cars. "Or what about Michonne?! " he asked as Michonne was also dragged from the car.

Rick turned to look at Daryl, who was standing next to Theo; they both gave him a reassuring nod to him as he began making his way down to the fence.

Theo looked down worried, not everyone would make it out of this.

"Get ready, grab a gun, and when whatever is going to happen happens, shoot, but leave that man to me", Theo instructed everyone as they all slowly grabbed a weapon and carefully watched what was happening from the bottom of the field.

"Hey, you find me if things go south," Daryl told her as he began to head over to Carl. Merle stood beside her.

"Baby bird, I suggest taking a shot if you get it", Merle told Theo as she shook her head.

"I can't risk it," she shook, looking up at Merle, who had the same worried expression.

She placed a pistol in her leg holster, a knife in her pocket, grabbing a sniper in her hands.

"Okay," She nodded, running away and off to one of the towers. It was risky as the tank could easily hit her, but she couldn't care less if it meant she could take out the governor.

No one could hear what they were saying. But all they knew was that The Governor wasn't happy as he jumped off the tank, took Michonne's katana, and held it to Herschel's neck.

The rest of the group observed, panicked and scared.

"I wish I knew what was happening," Theo admitted to herself as she tried her hardest to lip-read

Theo watched the Governor closely, realising he was lowering the katana.

She looked through her scope to see his face relax before suddenly turning into anger.

He said something before swinging the katana just as Theo pulled the trigger on her sniper, but the bullet wasn't quick enough; she hit the governor's shoulder, but not before he lowered the katana through Herschel's neck.

The guns erupted, as did the screams of Beth and Maggie.

Theo kept shooting, managing to take out a couple of the Governor's people while she had the advantage, but she soon realised that the tank was turning in her direction, meaning she needed to run.

She sprinted as fast as she could down the stairs, Merle right behind her, as the top of the tower was blown up, covering them in debris and dust.

"I need to find Daryl!" Theo yelled at Merle as he looked around for a sign of his brother.

"Come on!" Merle yelled as they ran towards the fence

The people had ripped through the wall with their tanks and moved in.

"Merle, I'm going for the governor. You find Daryl. Meet by the bus!" Theo told Merle. He didn't question her; he ran towards the gunfight to find his brother.

Theo used the broken fence on the far left to slip past the gunmen and make her way to the Governor, who was fighting with Rick.

Before she made it there, Michonne took her katana back, stabbed him through the chest and helped up her dad. She walked over, a face of fury.

"Go," Theo told Michonne, who looked back at her. "Go now", Theo put sternly.

She knelt next to the Governor, who was still alive.

The gunfire had slowed; they were winning, but their home was destroyed.

"I just wanted to make sure my face was the last one you saw," she said, taking her knife from her holder.

"You and Daryl tried again at all?" He grinned, coughing up blood with a smile.

"Fuck you", She spat before stabbing him in the stomach and using her knife to travel up his body, exposing his organs and insides to the walkers, the Governor letting out a piercing scream.

"Let me finish it," A woman said from behind her.

"Be my fucking guest" Theo stared at her before leaving her and the Governor alone. A single gunshot echoed throughout the prison, and she did not turn at all. She returned to the prison's main gate; the escape bus and everyone else were gone; no one was around.

She looked for Daryl or anyone else, but there were only walkers and many for her to take out.

She ran to the exit stash that the people kept at the back of the prison in case of a quick escape, and luckily enough, a bag, food, water, and ammo were left.

"Theo!" It was Merle.

"Merle!!" Theo yelled back, relieved someone else was there. She could cry at Merle's sigh.

"Come on, baby bird, we gotta go" Merle reached for her as she looked around.

"Daryl?" Theo questioned as she looked around, upset and scared.

"We got separated. Please, Theo, we gotta go," Merle begged. Theo held back her tears, nodding before running with Merle out of the prison and into the woods.

They ran as far as they could, out of the way and far from the prison, only stopping to catch their breath when they got far away.

Theo looked around and realised it was just her and Merle. For the first time since the world had ended, she was alone with just one other person.

It finally hit her,

"How many people did you see get out?" Theo shook as she looked at Merle.

"I saw the bus leave; I got no idea how many people were on it", Merle heaved as he caught his breath.

She looked around for any tracks, any trace of her people, but there was nothing.

Not even a walker.

She and Merle...were alone.
