2. Never Tear Us Apart

-ain't no cold-

Everyone followed Rick to the basement, with Tyreese, his steps heavy and his face contorted with anger, leading the way.

Daryl stayed close to Theo, ensuring he was prepared for any potential threat in the uncertain basements.

A horrid smell flooded their senses. The smell of smoke engulfed them. What was most worrying was that it was the smell of burning flesh. 

Theo covered her mouth; the smell was harsh, and you could taste it.

They walked out to see two bodies, covered in charcoal, burnt beyond belief.

Theo couldn't believe what she saw in front of her, who could do such a hienous act?

She looked at Daryl worried as he gave her the same expression back. 

"You found them like this?" Rick asked, looking down closely at the bodies.

It was Karen and David, two innocent people who had unfortunately caught the virus soon after the meeting, being placed in a seperate area to be quarantined from all the others. 

"I was going to bring Karen some flowers" Tyresse said angrily, looking at them angrily. 

"Who would do this?" Theo questioned, looking down sadly, someone inside the prison did this.

"You're a cop, you find them, bring them to me. You understand?" Tyreese yelled facing Rick.

Rick sighed knowing that he was a cop before but not in this new world. 

"I can't figure this out by being a cop. I have to find other ways to figure out who did this. I can no longer take into consideration DNA or interrogate potential suspects, no one here wants a cop. They need answers. I know you need answers but for now I need to to try and stay calm, don't do anything reckless. If not for me...do it for Karen" Rick calmly stated as he looked at Tyreese who was only getting more and more frustrated 

Tyresse snapped. 

"Do not tell me to calm down!" Tyreese shouted before pouncing on Rick, pushing him to the grounds. 

Daryl quickly responded by grabbing Tyreese and pulling him off of Rick, only to be span on and pinned against the back wall of the area they stood in.

Theo went to grab her gun but Daryl put his hand out to stop her, not wanting her to get hurt for him. 

"We are on the same side, man" Daryl reminded him.

Rick had gotten back on his feet and pulled Tyreese off of Daryl, only to get a punch straight to the face

"Stop it!" Carol yelled as Tyreese repeatedly punched Rick into the ground. 

"Dad!" Theo yelled, wondering why he wasn't doing anything. 

Daryl and Theo shared a worried looked before both trying to get Tyreese off of Rick, but it was no use, Tyreese was much bigger and stronger for them to stop his rampage. 

However, their distraction gave Rick leverage in order to stand and push Tyreese off of him, only to retaliate himself and repeatedly punch Tyreese in the face. 

Both men now covered in bruises. 

"Rick stop!" Daryl tried to get him off but Rick wouldn't

"Dad!" Theo yelled but he still ignored them.

Theo grabbed her gun, shooting a bullet into the air, snapping everyone out of it, Rick looking back at his daughter

"Cut it out. We are on the same side!" Theo yelled, finally Rick looked down at Tyreese who cried.
