2. Never Tear Us Apart

-putting the past behind-

"Who are they?" Daryl asked before Theo could, looking behind Maggie.

"They are good people. They helped us find each other," Glenn explained, looking behind him, defending these strangers from the most stubborn people in their group.

Theo looked around before her eyes met familiar ones.

"What about you?" Theo asked, pointing at the short-haired girl standing behind Glenn.

Venom hinted at her voice, but she knew who she was.

"Tara", She introduced.

"No, you were the girl standing with the Governor," Theo snapped at the memory, "Standing with the man who killed people we cared about"

"Yes, but she didn't shoot. She had no idea what he was really like. She helped me out of the prison. We were together when we found Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita. And she helped me find Maggie," Glenn explained, causing Theo to nod slowly, looking the girl up and down.

She took a deep breath...

"Alright, welcome to the family" Theo accepted Glenn's case.

Glenn sighed in relief, thanking the gods that he stopped believing in when shit hit the fan, thanking whoever was out there that Theo didn't give her a hard time and accepted his and her explanation.

Abraham smiled, shaking Theo and the others' hands.

"Nice to meet you. Glenn and Maggie have told us a lot about you all." He smiled and looked around the room.

"Hello, Miss. My name is Eugene. It's nice to be of your acquaintance." Eugene spoke somewhat poshly to Theo, shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you too?" She questioned before laughing to herself.

Glenn hugged Rick and patted Daryl's shoulder as they reunited.

"Hey," the girl said behind her.

"Hi," Theo smiled, turning to look at her.

She was beautiful.

"Rosita" " she introduced herself with a nod.

"Theo, but you already knew that" Theo smiled, causing Rosita to return one.

"Hey Tara, right?" Theo began, "No hard feelings; I can look past it as you helped my friends, which I will be forever grateful for."

"Honestly, I had no idea. I swear." Tara panicked, her voice shaky, and her heart rate jumped.

"We are good" She nodded with a smile. 

She headed back over to Daryl, who took her hand in his. 

"You good?" Theo nodded, walking over to Daryl and smiling at his smirking face.

He couldn't help but watch her confidence the whole time she introduced herself.

The demeanour she put forward, these people were both terrified of and respected Theo, and they had just met her.

She put on a confident front that not even her father could match.

Theo knew what to do in this world, and if he was thankful for anything in this hell of a world, it was that he found her.

"What's with that look?" Theo began, walking towards him with a confused look as she caught him staring.

"Nothing, just the quicker we are out, the better" Daryl smiled, watching Rick speak to the newcomers.

He knew what he was doing. He would propose as soon as they had made it out of Terminus. Nothing could stop him except maybe death.

"Are we ready?" Rick asked.
