Chapter 29. What's Happening?

Chapter 28.

"Oh baby, where are you going? I thought you're free today?"

Mew asked Gulf who is currently fixing his sneakers. Mew just came home to get his things that he forgot. He is now busy with the new project.

"Ahh.. I'm.. I'm meeting a possible client today. They just called me this morning."

Gulf said without looking at Mew. Mew frowned from what he heard, he knows that Gulf is not going to meet a client. Gulf never dressed in a simple shirt and pants when he is meeting his clients.

"Hmm.. Okay. Where is it? I can drive you there. I still have time."

Mew asked but Gulf immediately shook his head.

"No.. You don't have to. I know you're busy, Boo. Eat first before you go, okay?"

Gulf said and kissed Mew's cheek gently. Mew just nodded but his doubt is already getting bigger. Gulf never declined his offer before unless he has an acceptable reason. But now, he knows that Gulf is hiding something.

Mew just starred at Gulf until his boyfriend faded from his gaze. He sighed and started looking for his things and decided to go without eating lunch.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Gulf asked Mew when Mew entered the house with a gloomy expression. Mew slammed his body on the long couch and massaged his temples.

Gulf turned off the stove first and walked towards Mew. He kneeled down beside Mew and looked at Mew's crumbled face. Mew's eyebrows are frowning deeply and his lips are tightly closed.

"What's wrong Mew? Are you okay?"

Gulf asked and lightly pinched Mew's chin. Mew didn't respond so he touched Mew's hand that is covering Mew's eyes. Gulf placed it on Mew's chest and squeezed it.

"Hmm. I'm just tired. Cook our dinner, I'm hungry."

Mew coldly said without opening his eyes. Gulf sighed and stood up to finish his cooking.

The two ate in silence. Gulf tried to start a conversation but he only got nods and hums as an answer.

Mew went straight to their bedroom after he is done eating and quickly showered. He made himself busy with the papers on his desk without noticing Gulf who is standing on the doorway while staring at him.

Mew made a last check on the improvement that he made to the project that he is going to present tomorrow and went to sleep beside Gulf. Gulf is already sleeping peacefully but he still can't sleep.

It's already 11 in the evening but Mew is still wide awake. Random things kept on lingering through his mind.

Minutes after, he felt Gulf's phone vibrating and Gulf got up while groaning so he pretended sleeping. He felt Gulf checked on him before answering the call.

"Sky?"

Mew fisted the blanket after hearing Sky's name. Anger suddenly grew inside him.

"Let's just meet tomorrow. I think Mew is already noticing me. You know he can't know about this."

Mew heard Gulf trying to lower down his voice. What he is hearing is just adding to his anger, it is just the first time when he is having doubt to his boyfriend and it is really driving him mad.

"Yeah.. Meet me at the same cafe tomorrow at lunch... Yes.... Bye."

Mew tried to soften his face after Gulf ended the call. After a few seconds, Gulf laid down beside him and kissed his forehead while hugging his waist.

Mew oppend his eyes just to glare at the ceiling and asked himself.

"Are they cheating on me?.."

"Are you busy today?"

Mew asked while eating, Gulf is silently eating in front of him and Mew can feel that Gulf wants to have a conversation with him.

"Yeah.. I have a new client. How about you?"

Gulf answered and didn't bother to break his eyes from Mew. Mew focused on his food and tried his best to talk casually. He is already itching to ask about Sky.

"Hmm.. I'm busy with the new project. Text me if you need something, I have to be there early."

Mew said and eat the last food on his plate. He quickly entered their bedroom to make a final fix on himself and went out a few minutes after.

"I have to go. Take care."

Mew said and kissed Gulf and went out of the house. He gripped on the stirring wheel when he is already on the road. He can't keep his anger inside him as he knows that Gulf is going to meet Sky and not a client.

Hours passed and Mew purposely took a quick leave for a few hours. He is planning to look for Gulf in every cafe near their place. His forehead is sweating and he can't stop frowning. He is very nervous to know what Gulf is doing with Sky.

After almost thirty minutes, he saw Gulf sitting inside the cafe just three blocks away from their subdivision. Gulf is happily talking with Sky and laughing while Sky is showing him something from the paper that he is holding.

Mew punched the stirring wheel in anger and his breathe became deep and heavy. A mixture of pain and anger is eating him, he can't stand seeing his boyfriend being this happy with someone else.

Are they really cheating on me?!..

Mew tried his best to stop himself from going out of his car and punch the shit out of Sky's face. He wanted to confront the two but he is still thinking straight. He can't just barge in without solid evidence.

He took a quick glance at his boyfriend only to see him smiling while sipping his coffee. Mew bit his lip in so much anger to the point that it bled in just a few seconds.

Mew immediately left the place and decided to  busy himself at work. He spent his other half day with a heavy heart because of Gulf.

What are you doing Gulf?!!..

A short update for now. I'm trying to end this as soon as possible because I'm going to be busy with my modules. Our class is about to start tomorrow so I might not have a lot of time with this.
