Canyon POV

it's finally here, our birthday. and the day we can all hopefully pass for our license. i am confident we will all pass, we have all been practicing really hard. Dad has been taking us out driving in a parking lot pretty much every spare moment he has, mom has taken us out a couple times too. so i think we are all pretty well prepared.

when we would be out with the family. mom would randomly quiz us on signs, and ask us questions and expect an answer. so that's helped a lot.

"i can't believe you going for your lisences today, feels like just yesterday you where still just learning how to crawl. now your going to be driving" mom was super emotional today.

"mom don't cry" i was trying not to laugh at her.

"leave me alone i am aloud to be emotional okay" she whipped under her eyes.

"i am so pumped" Cruz walked into the kitchen with a huge smile.

"same i can't wait till i can drive myself places." i grinned.

"oh you mean drive your brother and sister places" mom raises her eyebrow.

"that part i am not looking forward to" I groaned.

"well i certainly am" dad came into the kitchen with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"of course you are" Cruz rolled his eyes i was feeling him there though.

"was that an eye roll young man" mom questioned him with a serious look on her face.

"no" he looked away from her.

CJ then came into the kitchen dressed and ready to go. but i could tell buy the look on his face, his anxiety was at an all time high. i think mom did too, so she quickly jumped into mom mode.

"come sit" she pulled a chair out for him.

he dose as she says, mom placed her hands on his shoulder and makes him look at her.

"your going to be okay. you have been practicing. i know that your ready you just have to believe in your self." she preached to him.

he slowly nods, and i notice he's digging into his palms. but before i could say anything, mom grabbed his hands.

"take some deep breaths" she tells him.

"i don't think i am ready" he proclaims.

"of course your ready, we have been practicing non stop." i stepped in.

he looked at me with a look of doubt. "your ready, we all are. and if we fail then we fail, so what we study a bit more then go back and try again." i encouraged him.

"plus you haven't crashed the car in practice so that's a big bonus." Cruz stepped in.

"they are right, we all believe in you honey" mom encouraged him.

"you know if we didn't think you where ready we would tell you to wait." dad voiced.

"i don't think i can sit there for the test. i will go insane and won't be able to focus." he was stressing.

"remember what Shanell taught you, the different coping methods. try those if you feel your self getting worked up." mom mentioned.

"and if they don't work?" he says.

"then you come out of the test room and we will try again another day" mom gave him a straight up answer.

"okay" CJ agreed with her options.

"good, now let's go before the line gets to long." mom stood up.

"so do we have everything ready to get set up for the party tomorrow" i asked mom.

"yes it's all ready to be brought up. which friends are you inviting to stay over again?" mom questioned.

"Tyson,Denver and Gabe" i informed mom.

"alright sounds like a plan" mom nods.

the drive to the DMV was only about twenty minutes. and when we got there there was only about six people in line. so we shouldn't have to much of a wait.

"i don't know if i can do this" CJ was starting to get worked up.

"yes you can, take some deep breaths. okay you know you can do this." i placed my hand on his shoulder.

i saw him taking deep breaths, and could slowly see him coming down.

"so have our swim shorts came in yet?" Cruz changed the topic i knew he wanted to get CJ mind off of this.

"no not yet, but they said they would be delivered to day. so i am not worried." i tell them.

"i still can't believe we did that" CJ had a smile on his face now.

"wait what did you do?" mom somehow joined in this conversation.

"nothing bad, but it's a surprise for the party tomorrow." i grinned.

"i don't know if i want to know" mom chuckled.

"well i do" dad looked at us with a stern look on his face.

"dad we promise you it's nothing bad" i tried to get him to see reason.

he looked unsure of it but finally after a few seconds he nodded.

"i passed" i came out smiling towards my parents.

"congratulations honey, i knew you would" mom smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"good job" dad patted my back.

i was the first one done of the three of us. so i went back into the line up so i could get my picture and all that ready. i made sure that my hair was on point today cause i was going to have my picture for a while, so i want it to look good.

just as i was walking back to mom and dad, CJ came out. it was hard to read his face. but before i could question him he smiled.

"i passed" he was grinning.

"see we knew you could do it." mom was so excited.

"i didn't doubt you for one second." dad smiled.

"i am going to go get my picture" he says and makes his way into the line.

"hey congrats" i called out before he could get in line.

"thanks you to" he smiled.

Cruz walked out a few minutes later, with a big grin.

"heck ya i did it" he came out doing this weird dance he dose when he accomplishes someone.

"all my baby's can drive now this is to much for me." mom whipped her eyes.

"see i didn't doubt any of you" dad voiced.

"i can't wait to drive, can i drive home" Cruz was excited.

"no you can't" dad says.

"booo" he huffed.

i couldn't help but laugh. "ya cause i get to drive home" i knew i wasn't but i just had to.

"what no way" he glared at me.

"he's not driving home, i am so drop it" dad stepped in to finish this before it turned into an argument.

"you know grandma is going to make a big deal out of this right" CJ was right she would.

"oh i know she will. but she loves you guys" dad says.

i know she dose but it's just in her nature to go above and beyond, even if it's not something huge. she still makes you feel like it is. which is why we all love her so much.
