My attention was divided the entire morning at the conference. I kept trying to think of how can I be alone with Princess Charlotte without being seen by other people. But the people around me kept approaching and asking me how I'm feeling. Which is why I resorted to talking to Red about trying to get me and Princess Charlotte somewhere no one will know.
"Your Highness?" Red asked, clearly taken aback. "Set up a meeting with..."
Red's eyes trailed to where Princess Charlotte is.
"Try to keep it as quiet as possible. The King knows about this." I whispered and continued eating.
Things are pretty normal in the first few hours. I did what I'm supposed to be doing as the representative of Great Amber. Of course, while bearing in mind what I really am supposed to be doing here. Umiisip na rin ako ng posibleng offers na ibigay kay Princess Charlotte kung sakaling humingi s'ya.
Hindi naman kasi ganon kadali yung mangyayaring deal sa amin. Madaling sabihin o ipaalam sa iba na nakaabot na sa conclusion yung territorial dispute ng Great Amber at Great Citrine pero mahirap tanggalin yung nakasanayan.
For sure matagal mawala yung tension lalo na sa militaries. Ilang decades din na nagkakainitan at minsan na nagkakapalitan ng bala roon. Which I'm pretty much aware of since we had instances that Dad had to leave as soon as something like that happens. I remember one time he got called during my birthday and I was such a spoiled brat then that I didn't speak to him when he got back.
Buti na lang pala hindi ako umabot sa point na nagtatantrums in public para lang unahin ako o kami ni Dad.
"Tori."
Napalingon ako nang marinig si Jessie at nakita ko yung pag-aalala sa mukha n'ya. "You okay?" Dagdag na tanong n'ya.
"Yeah, may iniisip lang." Sagot ko.
"You're looking at Great Pearl's General and his daughter." Pabulong na sabi ni Jessie.
Pinagtuunan ko na lang ng pansin yung folder na nasa harap ko—at least what I tried to make it seem like. Ni hindi ko nga napansin na nakatingin ako ron.
"Sorry we couldn't go to your Dad's funeral."
"I understand, alam ko namang busy kayong lahat." Sabi ko.
"But if you need to talk to someone, alam mo namang we're one call away."
"Thanks." Nakangiting sabi ko kay Jessie.
Pinag-usapan na lang namin yung concern ng conference dahil malapit na rin mag-resume yung session. At nang pumapasok na isa-isa yung iba pang representatives, natahimik na. Pasimple ko pang sinundan ng tingin si Princess Charlotte na mukhang naiinis pero nang umupo s'ya sa pwesto n'ya, nagkasalubong yung tingin namin.
It was quick but it made me worry.
Kung kanina hirap na hirap ako umisip kung paano s'ya kakausapin, ngayon hindi na. I know how I can talk to her.

"Tori this is seriously nuts! If I didn't think you were serious, I wouldn't have done it!" Sabi ni Jessie at umismid pa.
"Are you sure about this?" Leonard, the Crown Prince of Great Pearl asked.
"Yeah, since Clinton's father also agreed to this." I sighed. "Thank you, I didn't think you'd agree to this.
"I wouldn't have, knowing Great Amber and Great Citrine's ties." He honestly said. "Pero sabi mo na rin na mismong King pumayag."
"Alam ba 'to ng asawa mo?" Tanong ni Jessie.
