//Hey y'all, 2022 me here (originally wrote this 2019/20 time so wow) I just changed the image from a Gumball meme to this. I'm not saying spoilers for book 2 but yes, spoilers for book 2.

Wait... most of you are new to this book and have no idea what I'm on about.

Whatever!! Read this first, it's still standing as a good story. I think. Anyway. Hope you enjoy//

Y/n L/n was looking out of the window of the car, sighing to herself. This was just going to be like the last time, wasn't it? She was moved from house to house, town to town, place to place, finding the perfect home for her and her plushie, Barney. He was, of course, a dinosaur plushie.

She hugged Barney closer to herself and looked over at her social worker, Felicity. Felicity's ears were perked up, indicating how she felt about this move. Hopeful. She hoped Y/n would feel better in this foster home than the last one, with these foster parents.

"Felicity." Y/n called her and said bunny's ears twitched.

"What's up, Y/n?" Felicity was trying to keep her eyes on the road but glanced briefly up at the rear-view mirror to look at her (unadmittedly) favorite child in the entire world. Well, not really a child anymore. When Felicity met Y/n, she was only a little nine-year-old, an adorable one at that.

And now Y/n was 14 in a couple of months, on (birthday date). Felicity could not believe it.

"What are my new foster parents going to be like?" Y/n asked, looking down at her dinosaur plushie.

Felicity tried to remember her cousin's family. It was easy to get Y/n that home apposed to the others since her cousin, Richard, was easy to persuade after you supplied him with food. She was sure Y/n would get along with the children, too. The cat, the fish, and the bunny, who looked so much like her aunt it was scary.

"They're going to be... something new, that's all I can tell you. And, don't worry; you'll probably see me every now and again."

Y/n nodded and picked at a loose stitch on Barney. "I'll like that." She murmured. Y/n saw Felicity like family, so knowing that she wouldn't be completely detached from her.

Felicity smiled, and they pulled up outside a random house, which had a yellow car against the sidewalk. The house itself was a light blue color, with a white porch and a window in the dead center of the second floor. Y/n looked at the house curiously.

"Come on, Y/n." Felicity unbuckled her seat belt, and Y/n slowly did the same. She looked nervous. Felicity got out and opened the trunk, and Y/n opened the car door and got out herself. Felicity got Y/n's bags and locked up the car. "Let's go up to the house."

They walked up to the door, and before Felicity knocked, the front door opened, revealing a tall lady, with cat ears and a tail. She had blue fur and a smile.

"Nicole!" Felicity said, going for a hug.

"Hi, Felicity! And you must be Y/n," Nicole came away from Felicity's hug and smiled at Y/n. "I'm sorry, I can't stay to welcome you, I have to go to work." She seemed embarrassed at the very idea. Y/n and Felicity let her pass and she went for the car, eventually driving off.

Felicity and Y/n turned back to the door to see three other kids staring at Y/n curiously. The oldest, a blue cat-like his mom, wore a beige sweater and jeans. Strangely enough, with no shoes. The second, an orange fish, wearing long green and white socks/shoes. And the youngest, a small pink bunny who reminded Y/n of Felicity, who wore an orange dress.
