//Oh my God, I love that pic! And I love the headcanon that he likes gardening- it's adorable! (none of my friends get my adoration for Rob- they call him creepy! Some people are uncultured swines!) Anyway, the ending of this was hard to write (not that it's then end! not for another like ten chapters lmao) but I got it done.//

Y/n didn't eat much that night, her stomach felt queasy and she couldn't look anyone in the eye. Nobody noticed, though, the dinner table was chaotic as ever. She went to bed early, slept until Gumball and Darwin came to bed (or to play video games all night) then slipped out. There was no need to make an excuse- they already knew where she was going.

Nicole and Richard went to bed early also, leaving the living room empty and silent. Still, Y/n crept around to the secret entrance, lightly tapping the wall where it was. The entrance opened and Y/n slipped in, meeting the disapproved face of Rob in the basement.

"You're staying up again?" He asked, he was sat crossed-legged on his mattress and was holding a hot bowl of soup (giving Y/n flashbacks to their first meeting, she even saw a stain on the floor where Gumball had dropped the hot bowl). "Not that I don't want you down here, but you must be pretty tired now,"

Y/n shook her head with a smile. "I had a nap earlier. I just don't want you to be lonely."

Rob looked at her for a moment, an unreadable expression on his face. Then he spoke. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"How do you mean?"

"I dunno... I just think something's wrong."

She shrugged. "Okay, something is wrong." She admitted. "I thought you might know something about it."

Then she told him about everything that happened after he left (she cut out the bit where Darwin was saying she and Rob should've been a couple) and going into detail about how she looked on the t.v.

"It was like a t.v show?" He asked, unsurprised.

She nodded. "With an intro and title screen and everything."

He also nodded. "Yeah, what was the episode called again?"

"At first sight, I think,"

"Hm, nothing I can remember..." He went into deep thought. Y/n watched him for a moment until she realized he was gone from the world. Then he came back. "I haven't been in the void for a while, and I used to know what episode was on because I'd hear the intro and see the words backward where I was. The last time I went there- and I never want to go back- is just a month before you arrived," He looked at Y/n like he was studying her for homework.

"Is there something on my face?" She joked.

He shook his head. "No, it's just that..." He studied her again, a bit more intently. "You may have more importance than I realized."

"Wait, you thought I wasn't important? A bit rude," Y/n mumbled the last bit.

"Oh, no! You're important to me, I just.... The world- like you're more- ugh, I can't-"

So after that awful spectacle, they finally had a decent conversation.

"What did Gumball say again?" Rob asked; he was writing everything down.

"Oh, er, something about me making goo-goo eyes at...someone," She replied evasively. In reality, she knew Gumball said the words 'MY NEMESIS' bright and as clear as day. It would just make things awkward if he knew.

"Did he say a name?"

"No," At last, not a lie. "He just said... 'him'." Alright, never mind.

"And what else?"

"Apparently I stop Tina from crushing you with her tail. Gumball actually sounded awed by that,"

"Oh, thanks, in advance."

"Yeah, I mean, crushing you more, I don't think I get there exactly on time to stop it."

He shrugged. "At least you helped. Or help, or will, I dunno."

"There is another thing bothering me. It seems like I really hate Gumball and Darwin at that point, I barely spoke to them, then I snapped at them for 'a whole world' in which they 'have neglected'."

He thought about it. "Well, it's not really a problem but we'll see what happens. Are you sure Gumball didn't say a name? Or at least hint to who it was?"

Y/n looked at him curiously. Why couldn't he drop it?

"He didn't."

He tilted his head. "You know I can tell you're lying?"

She shook her head in disbelief. "I don't?"

"Who did he say it was?"

"Why can't you drop it?" She snapped, similar to how she spoke to Gumball and Darwin in the show. Then she recoiled. "Sorry. I just- it's hard to realize-"

"It's fine," He replied glumly. "if it's a little secret for you to just tell close friends, you don't have to apologize. Go on- those two will be wondering where you are."

"They already know-"

"Go on." It was a short command, but it made her stand up.

"Fine, and for your information, it was you he said I made goo-goo eyes at, but I think the future may be rewritten!" Her voice trembled, and before he could react to the news, she raced up the stairs and shut the secret entrance with a snap.
