Rob x female reader (TAWOG)

Awkwardness, Trippy drug episodes, and walking home.

After a night of sleeping in Gumball and Darwin's room- Y/n told the boys she didn't like the dampness of the basement but didn't say it was mainly because Rob still stayed there- Y/n was getting ready for her first day at Elmore Junior High.

She got dressed into her best clothes in the bathroom and looked in the mirror with a sigh, taking her fingers into her (long, short) hair, annoyed that it seemed so messy. She fluffed it out and tried her best to smile. It looked horribly unnatural. Sticking her tongue out at her reflection, she left the bathroom.

She met Anais in the hallway, who smiled and nodded at her.

"You ready for your first day, Y/n?" Anais asked.

"Sure," Y/n lied. "Ready as I'll ever be."

Anais walked in front of her on the stairs. "That's great. Just one piece of advice, though. Don't follow Gumball and Darwin around. You actually seem decent, and I'd hate to think that you became like..." She gestured to the boys, still in their pj's, who were playing on their video game machine.

"I see. I won't."

Anais nodded, satisfied, and went to get some breakfast. Y/n went to follow but dawdled by the secret entrance to the basement, half-tempted to go down there. In the kitchen, Nicole was hastily making food.

"Oh, I'm going to be late-! Oh, hello, Y/n. Your breakfast is there, on the table. I wasn't sure what you liked, so I made some toast with butter, toast with jam, and put three different types of cereal there. If you don't like them or aren't hungry, give them to Richard."

Richard was eyeing the spread of food already. Y/n sat down at the table, and in a moment of generosity, decided to have a bowl of the cereal and a slice of the toast, leaving the other plates and dishes untouched. Richard gave her a look, to which she nodded, and he took to eating the rest.

When she finished her breakfast, she glanced over to the boys, who she was sure had not moved. But somehow they were dressed and frantically shoveling cereal into their mouths, all the while their eyes were glued to the paused game screen. She rolled her eyes and went to sit by Darwin, who was nearest to the window.

"Morning, guys." She said, looking at the screen as well. So far the top score was 12455, a score Y/n was sure to beat one day.

"Hey Y/n." They said, one after the other.

"So uh..." She scratched the back of her neck. "I'm guessing since you didn't know Rob he doesn't go to Elmore Junior High?"

They both looked at her curiously. "Um... that guy who said he was going to be our nemesis?" Y/n nodded. "No," Gumball replied, finishing his cereal and placing the bowl on the carpet. "Why?"

She shrugged. "Dunno."

Gumball and Darwin gave each other a look.

With a small sigh, Y/n looked out the window. "Um... guys?" They looked. A big yellow bus was against the sidewalk, and some kids were getting in.

"Oh no!" Gumball stood up and Darwin followed suit. "We can't be late for Miss Simian's class again!"

Y/n supposed Gumball never showed up to school on time when she first met him, so that statement just clarified that. She shot up too and they ran out the door, bags in tow. They got in and Y/n was greeted by an orange hand puppet, who Gumball introduced as Rocky. They sat near the back and Y/n looked around the students on the bus.

There was a thin girl with bear-like ears who was a sheet of paper, a floating cloud with arms, a multi-colored boy with a sweatband on his head, a flower in a flowerpot with pink petals, a ghost girl who seemed to have caught Darwin's eye, a kid with the head of a stereo, a balloon boy with a cactus girl (Y/n cringed at them as she caught their convo, and said to Gumball- "Would you like some fries with all that cheese?" To which he laughed). A banana with googley eyes and a girl who seemed to catch Gumball's attention massively. If the hearts in his eyes were anything to go off of. She looked like a coconut with holes as eyes and moose antlers.
