That night Mayne slept better than she had since the attack. She didn't relive that day but still the nightmares & memories came, this time it was as if her mind was trying to show her what else happened that day. Some of the events she dreamed about were good some weren't, whenever the scene shifted back to Metro City it wasn't good. By the mornings light she was ready to just get the day over with. She started off with a light breakfast, a snack bar and a glass of juice. She completed all her chores and got way ahead on her schoolwork, of course it helped that she was in the highly advanced class back in Metro City. She was two classes away from graduation but now she is back at the beginning so to speak. She finished everything and grabbed what she would need for the day of chores and started for the door.

"Hey," Just as she was reached for the knob one of the workers demanded her attention "you promised to do Kura's chores in exchange for her coaching you with your schoolwork remember?" He gestured at the chore chart "Get to work." The worker walked away before she could argue.

Mayne looked at the chart and sighed in frustration while making the mental note to at least take the scholarly placement test later that day. Karu's chores were easy to fake. If she did this right today they would realize that around the same time that they learned Kura had lied. With any luck Kura would be doing the chores again when she got back. Yes it was petty but there was no way she was doing this the long way not for her. She was successful rather quickly, she made it look like Karu's chores had been done then she left. In spite of all the chaos she still managed to leave before Kura was awake. She finished her first few jobs ahead of schedule and even got a tip from each of them. Mayne kept glancing in the direction of the Wittle house throughout the morning. Yes they were on her mind but they hadn't distracted her to the point that she messed up on one of the jobs. By noon she was done with all of her scheduled tasks and was on her way towards the school's head office. As she started out in that direction the visions started to reveal various things to her. Mayne had noticed throughout the day that the Effect of the Wittle boys still lingered.

The Lanyard Academy had agreed to wave all tuition for the survivors of the Metro City attack at great expense to themselves, a fact that few were aware of. The visions made Mayne well aware of this to enlist her help in spreading awareness of it. The visions also made her aware at the same time exactly how the day needed to progress to best suit her and the Lanyard Academy; apparently a great many things could be effected if this was done wrong. One of the more important things was Kura; people are watching her, if she sees that Lanyard is offering free schooling, she will jump on it and that will benefit Mayne by getting the attention off her.

Mayne reached the head office around two, left her name with the receptionist and sat down to wait. Thoughts ran through her mind of her days at Elite University in Metro City. The Lanyard Academy building was similar to the University building but the academies colors are much darker that the universities. But that doesn't say much since most of Metro city was white. Mayne liked the darker toned wood and grey brick of Lanyard it was richer, seemed more vibrant and more relaxed. It took maybe ten minutes for someone to come out to speak with her. The man coming towards her was tall and thin with a full head of greying hair.

"I'm sorry if you were waiting long, my name is mister Barger" he reached out to shake her hand "How may I be of assistance to you miss Mayne?"
