"Mayne," Ardor took a breath glaring at his cousin threatening him to shut up with a look "Why don't you go shower first, the rest of us will shower after you're done."

Mayne sighed and headed to the bedroom, "If you want to argue without me hearing it just say so." She headed into the bathroom, stripped and complained to herself as she showered. Mayne got out of the shower, "that nightmare is going to be starting up all over again." She brushed at the tears that blended with the water dripping off her wet hair. "This is insane," she sobbed "why do they do this to people who can heal!" She toweled off as she screamed through sobs "they don't even have any proof that things can go wrong." She threw the towel to the floor angrily "AND YET THEY CLAIM IT ALL THE TIME!" she screamed then dropped to her knees and sobbed.

She sat on the floor crying and shaking in fear when a knock came on the bathroom door. "May I come in dear?" It was their mom...

"Yes" her voice was shaky and showed her exhaustion. "Come on in."

The door opened and soon a warm blanket was draped around Mayne's shoulders. "I am so sorry dear," she pulled her into a warm comforting hug "just cry it out dear."

Mayne leaned into her chest and let it out. The tears poured out as mom soothed. "You have two wonderful young men out there, worried sick about you" She smiled with pride at her sons. "I have never seen them this worried and angry at the same time before."

Mayne leaned back and looked into mom's face wiping her tears with the blanket "who are they angry at?"

"You really need to ask that?" She chuckled "they are angry at the woman who started this."

                          "Stupid, arrogant, wining-ass..."

"Yes her," mom quickly interrupted, relieved to see the anger hitting and the tears fading "Dad is watching for any paperwork that she might file, and the rest of the team is trying to find a way to help the boys vent... that is a less dangerous way for the boys to vent." She smiled. "And the boys, well... just between us girls" she winked at Mayne "they are up to something."

Mayne face grew into a tight frown "I'm confused, why would all of you be so willing to fight for me?" Mayne remembered the rules her parents had, family helps only when you help yourself.

"That's just what families do..." she reached for a brush and started detangling Mayne's hair "your parents must have fought for you?"

"Well, sort of." She sighed "They wanted me to learn how to stand up for myself, they were there to back me up if I needed them, but they kept saying that the fight was mine and mine alone." Saying it made it feel wrong, it made Mayne realize that her parents were wrong. "Dad would always say; family only helps, when you help yourself."
