"HEY MAMAS!"
George was screaming at the top of his lungs as Sapnap appeared around the corner, waving his sword like a lunatic.
He had been walking around the seemingly empty fortress for a good while, thinking that he lost the man through the twisted hallways.
Nope.
Instead he was now retracing his steps and trying to make his way back out of the fortress, a wild Sapnap on his tail.
"COME HERE GEORGIE!"
George rounded the corner to a new, unexplored hallway and kept sprinting.
"GEORGE! I CAN PRACTICALLY TASTE YOUR CHEST PLATE!"
George scrunched up his nose in confusion. What the hell?
"Wait that sounds really wrong..."
George burst out laughing, still running for his life. He was starting to feel the exhaustion catch up to him, and he was starting to slow down.
Sapnap, noticing this, started picking up the pace, advancing closer and closer.
George turned around and threw his sword forward, clashing it against Sapnaps. A clean cut was added to Sapnaps leg, but earned a weak jab against his chest plate.
George hit his sword on the side of Sapnaps chest plate in return, only for the sword to break into two pieces as it collided.
"Ahhhh frick..."
Turning his back, George began to run again. Sapnap close behind.
"SAPNAP GO AWAY!"
"NO!"
George would hear Sapnaps mechanic giggles behind him, so loud... and so clear.
"LEAVE!"
"CONFESS YOUR LOVE!"
"GET LOST SAPNAP!"
"NO! YOU LOVE ME!"
George was growing tired again, and it didn't help that their loud voices had attracted the attention of a tall bone thin, charred man.
Wither skeleton.
It waved its stone sword at George, who narrowly missed it by diving aside and pulling up his shield. Backing himself into a corner, the small man could see his lunatic friend advancing from the corner of his eyes.
"Georgie~!"
With George effectively pinned into a corner, basically helpless to the wither skeleton banging on his shield, Sapnap leaned on the wall opposite of them, watching the show.
"Sapnap! Don't just watch!"
All George got in response was an unsettling giggle.
Wood started to chip off the shield, wearing it down. The iron rim was becoming brittle and bent, and a now big crack was starting to form down the middle of the shield.
It wasn't going to hold much longer.
The wither continued hammering it, with both its sword and fists, each thunk bringing it a step closer to sinking its sword into the soft flesh of a human being.
George gave one last desperate look at Sapnap, pleading eyes, begging for him to help.
His efforts were wasted.
His so called friend was in his inventory, sorting it. Throwing things out a window he probably broke into the lava, and organizing his hot bar more.
"Sapnap!"
He looked over, smirking.
"Yes George?"
What was George suppose to do? Just accept his death and die, knowing that he let Sapnap win?
He would never hear the end of it.
The shield was giving out. A corner had been exposed now, the wood completely chopped away.
The wither effect would be painful, no doubt, and George wasn't ready to experience it.
If he had to die, why couldn't it be a painless death?
Sapnap has returned his full attention onto George and the wither skeleton, ready for the real show to begin.
"Bye George! Be sure to save a seat in the afterlife for Dream~."
At the mention of their other friend, George wondered what he was doing, and if he was even still alive.
Would this have gone differently if he had followed Dream back when Sapnap has first showed up?
Crack.
The shield gave away.
The wither skeleton let out a pleased cackle, and took its first swing.
Pain jolted through George's body, like a thousand volts being carried through his blood stream. Tearing him up from the inside out, eating him raw. It was as if someone had tasered him, poisoned him and set him on fire all at the same time.
Screaming, he feel to his knees and curled up in a small ball, desperately wanting it to stop, as the contagious wither effect started ticking down his hearts.
He had to be close to dying now.
He really hoped he was close to dying.
The wither skeleton was ready to take their second swing when suddenly, the block below George gave away, causing him to fall through the floor.
Then reappearing as if it never happened.
George was gone.
The wither skeleton let out a annoyed little grumble, turning away from the corner and spotting someone else.
Sapnap chuckled, starting to back up.
"Oh dear."
