EIGHTEEN

Kissing him felt so good. His lips were soft and just the right size to kiss mine. I wish his phone had never rang. I was enjoying this kiss. His phone went off for another few seconds until I pulled away.

"Shouldn't you answer that?"

"Yeah."

He pulled out his phone but kept an arm around my waist. He put his phone on vibrate and threw it on the couch. I stared at him as he turned back to me with both arms wrapped around me.

"I'm busy right now, they can wait."

"What if it's important?"

"It was Calum. How important can it be?"

Calum always called just because he could. One night he called to ask Luke a really bad joke. I'm surprised Luke hasn't blocked him from calling him yet.

"Point made, but we do have homework to do."

"Can it wait?"

He leaned in and kissed my cheek. I smiled but still had no answer for him.

"Can it Ana?"

"Yeah, for a few minutes."

He didn't wait for me to say anything else. He just kissed me again but this time it was slow and very passionate. My hands went right into his hair and our chests were pressed together. I could feel the muscles in his arms as he held me and I could smell his shampoo. His tongue touched my bottom lip and I opened my mouth so his tongue could enter. I could taste mint on his tongue. Then suddenly he stopped kissing me. I opened my eyes to see him smiling at me.

"It's been a few minutes. Time to get to work."

"Okay."

I didn't want to stop kissing him. I just wanted to sit on the couch and kiss him until we both got tired. No one ever really gets what they want though. There are always other things to be done. Sometimes more important things. Like school homework. Which is always a drag. Before Luke turned to walk into the library he grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. Butterflies and happiness filled me. Luke sat across from me once we sat down. It made me sad but, I guess it would be hard to work with him right next to me.

  It was 10:30 when we were heading to bed, I on the couch which hopefully I can sleep on all night this time. It would be so embarrassing if I didn't.

"Liana are you sure you don't want to sleep in my bed?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thank you."

"Okay. See you tomorrow Ana."

I woke up at 1:30 with a need to drink some water. It was 2:46 when I finally gave up on trying to go back to sleep on the couch. I tiptoed down to Luke's room. I opened the door and there he was sleeping. I carefully pulled the blankets back and crawled under them. Then I felt an arm wrap around my midsection and his body close to me. It felt nice and I didn't care if he picked on me in the morning.

"I knew you'd be in here at some point."

I jumped a little.

"You're awake?"

"Not really, more like half asleep."

"Then go back to sleep."

"I can try. You're here now so it might be difficult."

"I can leave if you want."

His grip on me tightened.

"No don't go please."

I felt his breath on my neck and it sent shivers down my body.

"Okay but we have school so try to sleep."

"Yes ma'am."

"And stop calling me ma'am."

"Sorry Ana."
